Rich and soft, predominantly ripe and candied peach (both natural and peach-o-ring types), was surprised how different it was than the Urziger Wurzgarten of the same vintage. Not as complex as that one but what it has it have it really delivers on. Just a slightly heavier weight and at 7 years may have been even more enjoyable a little younger — 15 days ago
Hard to believe it’s the same grape that goes toward some of the most boring white wines available. This is wild; pretty peach color from a little skin contact, slight oxidative notes which add to the complexity without tiring the wine out, very lively, intense and fairly long finish, most of the fruit is around apricots. Lovely — 2 years ago
All fruit but very well balanced, just not a lot of interesting characteristics beyond that but glad we tried it finally — 2 years ago
Underripe pineapple, ripe yellow apple, long finish, but drinking this early, should show better in a few years — 2 years ago
Lee Hill
Not only more acidic than the Wehlener Sonnenuhr of the same vineyard but more complex in the acidity itself and the range of flavors; ripe yellow apple, slightly underripe pear, a little lemon, peach and nectarine, mostly all fresh fruit characteristics and not the same candied aspect of the WS. Very good and with the acidity where it still is could go years longer in the bottle — 15 days ago
