Dry. Great sharp bubbles. Brioche is there. — 8 days ago
Medium deep yellow lemon colour . Very fine constant perlage . Quite rich nose with lemon peel , brioche , yeasty autolytic character, toasted nuts . Round and toasty on the palate also , with brioche , baked apple , roasted nuts , orange and lemon rind . Good balance with refreshing acidity and a slight mineral tinge on the reasonable length finish . This is probably in its drinking window , showing well now and will continue to do so for the next 10 years or so. Not the most complex or thought provoking tete de cuvee , though well made and enjoyable at this stage. — 3 months ago
That feeling you get when you open a wine that is in just the right spot…
From our perspective, that is where this Bernard Dugat-Py is at right in this very moment. It has a beautiful balance of fresh black cherry, red currant, kirsch, violet, hibiscus tea, and anise next to clove, cardamom, forest floor, peat moss, fig paste, and mushroom notes.
The palate is singing with bright acidity balanced by the expressive aromas and flavors, medium, fine-grained tannins, and medium alcohol (13% ABV). It has a lingering finish. What a beautiful wine!
It is the 2010 Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin “Cuvée Coeur de Roy” Très Vieilles Vignes, coming from very old, organically-farmed, and low-yielding vines, adding to the concentration of aromas and flavors. It comes from the village of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits. — 10 hours ago
100% Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark red/purple color. Beautiful aromas of black cherry/currant, black tea and leather. Fruit forward palate features black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, black licorice and Asian spices. Perfect touch of smoky vanilla and minerals on the long and lingering finish. Powerful, complex and rich, but in perfect harmony. Nicely integrated tannins and beautifully structured. Thank you Petey P. for sharing this incredible bottle. — 3 months ago
1 of 2 champagnes NY’s day. Good. Bit bold. Fair price. Enjoyed with my traditional charcuterie board. — 4 months ago
Happy Birthday Christina. 🎂 🎉 🥳
I have been holding this bottle for her birthday for about 5 years since we had this vintage last. Worth the wait. So much more complex now.
The fruits are more subtle and the toasted mixed nut buffet has taken hold. Butterscotch hard candy. Round, creamy, subdued lemon & pineapple juice, hints of lime on the long set, Bosc pear, white peach, whipped cream, brioche, some bread dough, some of the most beautiful yeastiness, what amazing, soft chalkiness, sea spray, undertones of white spice, crushed/powdery limestone, fresh, blooming Spring flowers & yellow lilies, excellent, perfect, crisp acidity, layers and layers on the well; knitted, balanced, structured, brilliantly polished, elegant finish that lasts minutes.
I’ve had some nice champagne lately and this beats everything except 02 & 96 Krug. — 2 months ago
