2020 vintage.
Timorasso is an indigenous grape from Piedmont.
7.5 hectare vineyard of 25 year old vines grown in marly, calareous, clay and sandy soil.
Stainless steel ferment followed by 8 months resting on the lees then 3 months of bottle ageing before release.
Giorgio Rivetti, owner of La Spinetta, considers Timorasso as the white Nebbiolo.
Will easily age 5-10 years.
Bright, brilliant straw gold.
Stone fruit, ripe nectarines, Acacia honey and white flowers.
Layers of flavours with tropical fruit, almonds and bergamot.
This wine dances a fine line between smooth texture, citrus, minerals and flowers. — 3 years ago
— 5 years ago

I’ve been waiting a week for the “experts” at @Delectable Wine to identify this correctly. I finally said “fuck it” and posted it with the wrong ID just so I wouldn’t forget about it. It’s the 2019 Terre di Carlin Barbaresco. (Not Massimo Rivetti).
A fruity, open, and straightforward bargain-priced weeknight Barbaresco. Nose shows spiced cherry, fresh and dried. A bit of leather and minerally earth. On the palate, it’s got nicely-concentrated fruit and decent acids. The tannins are soft and in the background. This is for short-term drinking while waiting for its more structured peers to come around. Great value. — 2 years ago

Getting much better with age, needs to be decanted for at least 30 minutes — 6 years ago
Interesting blend of Pignola and Sauv Blanc. Bruised apples, almond skin finish. Soft and quaffable. Grazie @George Tita — 7 years ago
Dry and layered..meshed well across the entire meal — 2 years ago
2008 vintage.
15 years old and still holding a deep ruby colour.
Very perfumed nose with black flowers, tar, licorice and vanillin.
Plum, porcini mushroom, dark cherry and sweet spice.
A silky texture and the tannins are still very astringent but caressing.
This wine spent 22 months in medium toast French oak.
I made mushroom and leek risotto with black truffles for dinner with this wine.
I was lucky to meet Giorgio Rivetti in 2004 at a Somm tasting that opened my eyes to La Spinetta wines….whether in Piedmont or Tuscany. — 3 years ago
Rivertti Massimo Viarivetti22 Rosato Langhe DOC 2020: Light. Bright. Balanced. Youthful flavors of strawberry, watermelon, cranberry & rhubarb. Short dry, yet refreshing finish. All in all, a beautifully-crafted, 100% Pinot Noir rosé from Piemonte and a perfect pairing for poolsides and summer days! Cheers🍷 — 5 years ago
Quality depth, plenty of spice, great red — 6 years ago

Nose- rose petals, leather and turf. I get some annisette, cherry, and earth on the palate. Tannins are moderate. This could age a bit more. I was surprised it was a little thin. Enjoyed with pasta and a rich guancale/ sausage tomato sauce. — 7 months ago
