Delish. At first blush, it seems like this will be lighter than it should be, but then a rush of raspberry and brambleberry, with dried spice and earth comes in. Lovely. Had it with steak, and I think the steak over powered it a bit. Maybe better with a cheese plate or chicken or duck… would happily drink this again. — 7 days ago
It’s hard to find fully shed classic Viura (white Rioja) anymore but old-school Lopez de Heredia clings to tradition. This wine, nearly 10 years old on release, is fascinating - aged to the point of considerable oxidation yet it retains its fruit ands acidity. Bruised apple, ripe pear, golden raisin, orange peel, flint, wet stones, and hay happily coexist with hazelnut, dried orange peel, coconut, baking spices ands more. The medium acidity is a firm foundation to a richly textured wine, Long finish too! — a month ago
CvNE’s Grand Reserva and the Imperial Reserva are two of my go-to Rioja.
Aromas of dried cherry, tobacco, and leather mingle with ripe plum, vanilla, and subtle toast. On the palate, it shows both savory depth and sleek fruit purity, framed by fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity. Earthy spice and mineral tones anchor its Old World core, while polished oak and plush fruit nod to New World opulence.
This bottle has matured gracefully and will have another 5 years peak drinking window. — 17 days ago
Beautiful tempranillo led wine with 10% gtaciano from one of the benchmark vintages in the past 25 years. This Gran Reserva has legs for the long run but perfectly approachable now! — 5 hours ago
Intense rioja, will age very well — 16 days ago
A plum, vanilla and leather. High acidity, but, soft tannins. Very good tempranillo, from reliable producer. — 4 days ago

Wine of the Year by WS in 2020. Revisiting this jewel is magical. Wine is aging incredibly well. Showing secondary and tertiary characteristics. The tannins are becoming fine grain and velvety. The fruit even more consentrated. — 2 days ago
