Smoky, meaty, and minty, good but needs lamb. — 3 years ago
The 2019 Canon is creamy and layered. A wine of immense charm and sensuality, the 2019 is immediately appealing today, but also clearly has the potential to age for many decades. The 2019 is not as exuberant as most recent vintages, and yet its balance is simply magnificent. Readers can expect an aristocratic Saint-Émilion that is holding so much in reserve. Patience is key. Tasted three times. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2022)

Acidity smoothed out with breathing. Strong plum. Made in steel instead of oak. — 6 years ago
Engaging with notes of cherry and olives. A bit simple with short finish but very accessible wine. Opened and poured after about 15 minutes of air — 7 years ago

Sister in law opened this for me at her girls party. So good. — 5 years ago
The reserve nose opens up with Initially with a waft of VA but then with air displays aromas dried purple flowers, stewed fruits, moss and pine needles. This could have really benefited from one hour decant and warmed up. No need to hold this unless you’re intrigued - I would drink this now without reservation. — 7 years ago

Nose has smokey dry earth, dry lavender, old licorice, dried black cherry, ripe black currant, dried blackberry and (light) dried oak.
Palate has silky dried blackberry, ripe plum, black currant jam, (light) dark chocolate, dried blueberry and light tannins. Mouth coating texture. Future bottles should be 2023+
50% Grenache & 50% Mourvédre
Paired with a bottom round beef roast, slow cooked 8+ hours with autumn root vegetables and the au jus from the roast, thickened with a little of my own tomato paste, delicious. — 7 years ago

Didn’t know much about Loire valley red wines until this random bottle popped up. Very nice - red fruit and grippy tannins. Some earth tones. — a month ago
