Co-operation Ale

Fantastic new sour from Jolly Pumpkin (new for me, anyway). This is a collaboration between JP and Baston Brewery, it’s a blend of JP’s La Roja and Baston’s Nectar Des Dieux Triple. Super complex with layers of molasses, brown sugar, chocolate, but also the acidity of La Roja. One of the most interesting JPs I’ve had in a while. — 4 months ago

Ampelos Pinot Noir 2010

Just fantastic! 12 years, showing a bit of age but still has many years. Very fruit forward, cherry, pumpkin spice, herbaceous, nice acidity. — 2 months ago

"S" Slatnik Venezia Giulia Chardonnay Tocai Friulano 2019

This level of good at this level of wild is a rare special find. Usually there's a tradeoff. Slatnik is a strike with no bumpers. A very special bottle.

Beautiful copper tinted pumpkin ale. An aromatic journey with a beginning, a middle, and end - on loop.

Yellow canned peaches, orange zest, thyme. And then creeping curls of incense - a lift, higher registers and piercing perfumes of rosewater, potpourri, and butterscotch.

The flavors are concentrated and lengthy. Sweet salted tangerine, furry dried apricot. Really concentrated and powerful and also dynamic - this thing moves.

El Monstruo Del Norte

This is fantastic! Brewed with chestnuts, this is an awesome brown sour for a cold winter’s day in Michigan, watching the MSU Spartans come back from 21-10 down in the 4th quarter to win the 2021 Peach bowl 31-21! Go Sparty! — 6 months ago

Bela Voda Macedonia Vranac Plavac Mali 2017

A big wine in a big (heavy) bottle! Very dark color with aromas and flavors to match. Blackberry, nutmeg (I think I caught a fleeting whiff of pumpkin pie spice even!), mocha, and a bit of vanilla. Firm tannin structure, but good balance. This one could've lasted another 5 years, probably. 50% Vranec, 50% Plavac Mali. 3/14/22. — 8 months ago

Obere Hund Alsace Terroir Pinot Noir 2018

Absolute razor acidity and crunchy cranberry, autumn leaves and pumpkin spice. Wild wine with heady aromatics and tannins that standup to each course; the picture sums it up. valentine — 5 months ago

Château Ste. Anne

Bandol Mourvedre Grenache 2011

Deep clear purple. Black cherry leather and hint of pumpkin spice (sorry) on the nose. Supple tannins fading tart black fruit. Delicious and may have been livelier a few years back — 6 months ago

Stoneridge Vineyard King Coal Cabernet-Syrah Blend 2016

Blackberry bramble, baked black cherry and plum, hints of maraschino, mint and menthol, bell pepper and geranium, cedar, tobacco, and bakers vanilla with whiffs of aged leather jacket on the nose. Blackberry, cherry, juicy raspberry, vanilla extract and weak black tea on the palate with a medium heavy body but a medium short finish. Overall a great wine for pumpkin pie brunch on Christmas morning (no it’s not too early). Merry Christmas! — 6 months ago
