Amazing still drinking so fresh and lively at this age for this class! — 2 months ago
2022 vintage. 82% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot. A legend in the making. I love these wines. Couvent des Jacobins has never given in to the fashion of the day, always crafting classic, profound, elegant and long-lived wines. The 2022 might well be the finest ever! Attractive nose with red and black fruit and subtle violet. Succulent, layered fruit, with impeccable purity, silky tannins, freshness and impressive length. This is Premier Grand Cru level! Enjoy over the next 40 years. Abv. 14,5%. — 4 months ago
A little farmyardy on opening, but still some pleasure in this forgotten oldie from the cellar when it opened up… — 2 months ago

2022 vintage. Couvent des Jacobins has been making great wines for decades, but the recent wines are even better. This second wine is absolutely gorgeous and could be a Cru Classé in its own right. Beautiful nose with red fruit (raspberry, strawberry), flowers and a subtle hint of cedar. Impeccable purity of concentrated fruit, with freshness and velvety tannins. Perfectly integrated oak.Uncommon depth for a second wine. Long finish. Impressive. Abv. 14,5%. — 3 months ago
Excellent floral bouquet, great mineral palate with tart cherries — 4 months ago

2023 vintage. Light-medium body. Initially pretty nose and flavors without trying-spearmint, raspberry, strawberry. Those impressions remained but dwindled with importance as rhubarb, clove and dark cherry steadily drifted in. A little substrate/carpet of dried earth that gradually gained strength. This is so youthful; a good 2-3 years necessary to even begin to speculate as to the ceiling and direction. 05.18.25. — 23 days ago
