Nice entry level wine from the fine folks at Montevertine. Great pairing with a marcella hazan inspired pork chops with mushrooms, tomatoes, and a bit of cream. Not quite integrated and seamless at this point, but a great pickup for $36 on Black Friday. Decanted 2 hours, improved with time. — 4 months ago

Expressive nose with quite a lot of baking spice and some fresh red cherry + a pinch of exotic spice. Ripe, full, enticing
On the palate this is round & smooth with sultry, velvety tannins, a very nice presence on the mid palate and quite long lasting, spicy finish. Riper & rounder than I usually like my Barberas but a very nice wine nonetheless. The 15% alc sticks out a bit in the end though. — 4 months ago
