Wow, this continues to be one of my favorite Provence rosés, ripe strawberry, cold peach, watermelon rind, damp limestone, white pepper; with +3Y of age we're at peak enjoyment.
On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading Julia ADOLPHE (Makeshift Castle), STRAUSS songs with orchestra (Muttertändelei, Opus 43, No. 2 / Wiegenlied, Opus 41, No. 1 / Waldseligkeit, Opus 49. No. 1 / Ruhe, meine Seele, Opus 27, No. 1 / Zueignung, Opus 10, No. 1 / Morgen, Opus 27, No. 4) all voiced by our favorite soprano Renée Fleming, and closing with STRAVINSKY (Petrushka, 1947 version).

Night one at Bern’s. Chosen in the cellar for its color and condition. Nice gold color in the glass. Killer nose from the start. Notes of lemons, cardamom, sautéed oranges, ginger, tan spice, honey, apricot and some vanilla. Nice fruit in the mouth. Quiet acidity at first but with air some nice structure grows. Evolved/improved all night and really delivered. — 2 years ago
Pre dinner wine at Dead Sea resort jordan. Med to full bodied. Black fruit tobacco anise. Nice tannins. — 3 years ago
Matar by Pelter Petit Verdot 2016, Israel
#kosherWineSunday
Inky in color with a short reddish rim.
Fruity nose with blue and black fruits, light oak, tobacco, coffee, metals and spices.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, crushed peppercorn, espresso, spices, herbs, light earth and black tea.
Short tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.
This 7 year old Petit Verdot from Israel is still drinking nicely. Rich and tangy with a soft mouthfeel. Spicy with nice complexity.
Showing black fruits on the mid palate, and very tangy on the finish.
Interesting.
Intense, and better with food. Will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
100% Petit Verdot grapes from the Jerusalem Mountains were aged for 18 months in French Oak barrels. Kosher.
14.3% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
