Castello di Stefanago

Provincia di Pavia Rosso

Very nice oak and flavor. Didn’t experience bad aftertaste either. Got from Bottle Rocket, would repeat buy. — 6 days ago

Renato Motalli

Valgella Valtellina Superiore Nebbiolo 2010

For such a light-colored 9-year old wine, this is still pretty youthful. Nose is beautiful. Moist earth, cracked mountain rocks, delicate, pure cherry, sweet spice, flowers. Lean but mouthfilling, with the fruit turning savory and minerally quickly after entry. Perfection with a delicate braised chicken dish. — 15 days ago

Famiglia Olivini

Notte a San Martino Merlot

Spicy yet surprisingly fruit forward for an Italian merlot! Acidity of blueberry across the finish. A bit expensive but delicious and age worthy. — 25 days ago

Lugana Trebbiano

Likely verdicchio instead of Trebbiano as mentioned in Godforsaken grapes. Bright, mineral, strawberries. “Yet what should become of the world? The industrial countries spreading like a blackness over all the world, horrible, in the end destructive. And the Garda was so lovely under the sky of sunshine, it was intolerable.” — 2 days ago

Boffarola Valtellina Superiore Pietrisco

Some fresh flowers notes, a point of acid and some fresh red fruits in the background, like strawberries or mud berries. Since they changed the production, this wine tastes more modern, easier to drink in veggie dishes, and fresh cheese — 17 days ago

Barone Pizzini

Animante Franciacorta White Blend

Nose of apricot, honeysuckle.

Deliciously citrusy on the palette, Buddha palm and kumquat. Doughy at the end, with gravelly acidity.
Perfect pairing for the BBC radio one DJ’s tonight. Raving it up on Friday!
