One of our favorites from Panzano where we have had a home for 20 years. Vicki and Guido are the best. Their oil is one of the best in Panzano too! — 3 years ago

Had this over a year ago, still tasting great. Located in the heart of Chianti Classico in the valley which lies south of the town of Panzano, called the "Conca d’Oro" (the golden shell) because of its amphitheatre shape. Aged for 12 months in oak, big ripe berry aromas & spicy notes. On the palate dark berry flavors, some sweet currants, cacao and oak. Well balanced with soft smooth tannins, lingering ending with smoky tones. Nice! Grab a bottle if you find one! — 5 years ago
Winery is located in the heart of Chianti Classico in the valley which lies south of the town of Panzano and is called the "Conca d’Oro" (the golden shell) because of its amphitheatre shape. Deep Ruby with aromas of dried fruits and oak notes, 18 months of French oak aging. On the palate flavors of sweet cherry with tobacco and floral tones. Fine sweet tannins, vivid acidity, well balanced, long finish ending with earthy mineral character, 15% alcohol, nice mouthfeel. Pricy but one of the best I’ve tasted, consistent. — 2 years ago
Gorgeous Brdx blend from the heart of Chianti Classico area, Panzano. Ready to drink after opened for a day. Last sips after 6 days. Amarena cherry, cassis, flowers on the nose. Dusty tannins and long taste. — 4 years ago
Owned by the family since the early 70s, estate is located in the village of San Leolino, near Panzano in Chianti. A blend of 50% Cab Sauv, 35% Petit Verdot & 15% Cab Franc, aromas of fruit and floral notes. On the palate raspberry and cranberry flavors with some herbal notes. Firm tannins, good balance ending with earthy mineral character. — 5 years ago
2021/4/29-30 with Nanjing saltwater duck, etc. Normally I don’t go for wines with international varieties from places like Chianti (and Panzano no less), but I came across this without knowing what was in it and had been wanting to try something from Montefili. It was pretty good - and the Cabernet Franc (which might be my favorite of the French varieties in Tuscany due to Ampeleia) hit the spot when I wanted something to go with duck. It had the brambly cassis and green tobacco, with some cherry from the Sangiovese. Was best on day 1 - was a little plain on day 2. — 3 years ago
