Mainly garnacha (92%) this wine has a vibrant red fruit core with crisp acidity and minimal oak on the nose and palate. It’s overflowing with red cherry, dried orange peel, and brush herbs reminiscent of rosemary and thyme with a hint of leather and tar on the long finish. It’s wonderfully easy drinking and the pedigree is impeccable - it’s made by Priorat-wizard Alvaro Palacios from his family’s Vineyards in Rioja Baja. Organic, minimal sulfur use. 14% abv — 18 days ago
This Mencía-based wine offers highly expressive cherry and dark berry scents and flavors, with bright mineral and spice topnotes. Concentrated and at the same time lively, the 2017 offers seamless texture and polished tannins, making it delicious now, especially alongside lamb or steak. $20.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, January 2020) — 11 days ago
Excellent QPR. Tasty. — a month ago
Brought by a friend which makes it better :)
More lifted fruit, orange zest than I expected for a 100% Viura. Rich texture, viscous, balanced w a clean finish (so good acids). — 8 days ago
Obviously European on the nose. I could pick this as French in a blind tasting and be wrong. Medium bodied and ready to drink - soft resolved tannins. Savoury with a little barnyard - just the right amount. Punching way above its price of $45. Very good value for a Priorat from Alvaro Palacios. Loved this wine with an aged T Bone and will look for more of it. — 16 days ago

🙈 tasting 3rd wine
at wset level 2 course (5th meeting)
1st of a grenache couple.
had quite a few grenache blends but I'm a true novice, so no guesses yet.
red cherry, red plum, herbs, liquorice and some oak spices 👃
mostly raspberry, 🍒 and liquorice 👄
made well but no serious complexity. — 6 days ago
From before the producer broke out the single vineyards, so simply labeled Corullon.
2000 was the second vintage I saw in the US. Came in funky 10 pack wooden boxes, as I recall.
Ruby w a more mature edge to the color. Amazing complexity; iron, mineral, bramble fruits, floral, hints of the ocean/iodine, cassis/minty. Palate is fully integrated and still with life. — 8 days ago
