dark ruby and a fairly reductive nose, this was my first experience with Freisa. red fruited but muted, lots of earth & forest, bramble - big on palate, grippy tannins yet a jolt of acidity. very unusual overall. interesting & cerebral - imagine this complements heavy tomato based dishes — 20 days ago
ahhhh, after a recent subpar Schiopettino, i had to go out and find another one: this was fantastic - textbook dark fruit and peppery goodness, some fig compote, licorice, vanillin along with earthy elements, just tons of complexity, well made balanced w/impressive length on finish — 17 days ago
what a treat, love this stuff with bottle age, had this with bouillabaisse and it was gorgeous: pale gold w/greenish hue, lot of savory on the nose, saline & marine, minerals, biscuit, herbaceous & citrus, umami on palate, big time, silky such finesse so balanced so harmonious — 22 days ago
improved from last tasting March 2022: so cohesive, so complete, power & elegance, incredible mouth coating mid palate & insanely long finish. throughout aromatic evolution new aromas would pop up - tobacco and spearmint were new for us... her Shiraz will go for eons but we'll drink up the Mataro & Grenache — 17 days ago

supposedly a Gold Medal wine: ski trip to CO wanted to drink local, love PV but this was disappointing... way hot, probably 15% and not wearing it well, grippy tannins and some black & red fruit, bit one dimensional, maybe some florals. smooth broad fleshy on palate, tannins really prevalent leading to the hot, slightly astringent finish. — 7 days ago
