Far too early to crack this open, but I couldn't resist.
It starts a bit like a good Beaujolais from a casual Oz Foillard, but with time loses some vibrancy to unfold complexity. I believe Joshua has found a magnificent vineyard that expresses a wine with many shade and has minerality and freshness quite rare for a red in Australia. I bid on him to become a future benchmark in the local market.
Macedon Ranges are going to become a new Eldorado for pinot...at least I hope...
BTW the 2017 vintage was poured by the glass at the Eleven Madison restaurant in New York, first Oz wine by the glass there. — 6 years ago

Have been saving this 1997 vintage for a special day and Father’s Day 2019 arrived. We grilled a 12 oz rib eye, asparagus, baked potato and had home grown tomato..... Opened and aired for 1hr. Beautiful! Soft but definite black cherries, hint of coffee and whiff of dark chocolate. Smooth taste that lingers with minimal tannins and the taste with a bit of bitterness at the end that adds to the taste. Excellent! — 7 years ago
Had this in the Denver airport. $12 for 6 oz but used priority pass. Love it. Why did I not order the 9 oz??? — 8 years ago
Light gold in the glass. Great leasy citrus and white stone nose with nice minerality and fruit. Nicely balanced structure with above average finish. Had this several times over the past 3 weeks during our trek across NZ and Oz. If tasted blind it would be hard to distinguish it from a young Meursault. — 9 years ago
Outstanding Oz Rizza! 👌🏽👌🏽❤️❤️ — 3 years ago
Aahhh, a return to the land of OZ on this Thursday night. A 1 hour decant(min sediment). A seductive inky crimson color. On the nose: red plum, creme brulee, little black fruit, floral. Taste: A creamy, rich wine with currents, spice, blackberry....dusty tannins, and just a little alcohol heat on the end for this medium plus long finish wine. — 6 years ago

National rum day.....waaahhhh, wine break.
Time for a Mai Tai...the original Trader Vic 1944 recipe...not those bastardized fruit juice/grenadine versions!
2 ounces good blended aged rums..I use 1 oz el Dorado 15 yrs and 1 oz 12 year Appelton estate
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
1/4 ounce simple syrup
1/3 ounce orgeat syrup
1/2 ounce orange curacao
Combine all ingredients with 12 oz CRUSHED ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake and pour..garnish with a mint sprig AND ENJOY!!!! — 7 years ago

A light bodied, dry Merlot. I love it! — 8 years ago
At peak. Looking exactly as it should. Classic big Oz Cab Shiraz. Delicious ripe dark berries and Christmas cake spices. A touch of leathery development and dusty oak add to the complexity and satisfaction. An Oz, old school classic in a pretty good spot. — 8 years ago
Too sweet on its own but good in a French 75 (2 oz gin 1.5 simple syrup 1 lemon top with wine ) — 9 years ago
Absolutely one of my favorites! This is damn good juice and the people at the vineyards are amazing wonderfully informative of all the wines and the back story. This is a beautifully done wine that has the right amount of oak, acidity and fruit. If you find it, buy it! If you’re in the Anderson Valley, make this one of the stops. — 4 years ago
Needs a couple hours of air & a few oz of 🥩
K&L notes as follows,
We sell a lot of this favorite second wine and the 1999 is quite elegant, with intense concentration and complexity. Plus, it is drinking well now. This estate is one of K&L’s veteran Bordeaux expert Ralph Sands’ favorites. I just tasted (July 7) another bottle from this recent shipment. Wonderful Bordeaux to drink tonight with a lamb chop. Some smoky aromas with cola and red fruit undertones. Typical, elegant 1999 Bordeaux with a sweet middle palate and smooth finish.

This has got to be the top Pinot Noir from the Southern Hemisphere. Who else is fighting for the podium?! Chacra in Patigonia has a shot. Burn Cottage from NZ I like. Ochota from Oz is worthy of a podium. But yeah, Sailor is winning gold in my book. — 7 years ago
Drinkable and so lovely - lemon and tart. Very awesome summer wine. No tannnins or bitterness present. BUT headache developed after consuming 3 oz within an hour so wondering about additives. If you’re not sensitive to hangovers or wine headaches - this is fabulous for its light and refined flavor. — 7 years ago
A very interesting case of Rhone syrah meets Oz Shiraz. Complex and enjoyable but almost certainly too young. Give it a few more yesrs. — 9 years ago
Dark Ruby with Purple rim. Aromas of Mulberries and dusty cherries with low oak influence finishing with soft tannins and medium intensity. Steve Pannell is a master of alternative varieties in Oz like Tempranillo Touriga and Nebbiolo but here he addresses his talents to Syrah in the Adelaide Hills and does a great job as usual. Won the Jimmy Watson Trophy in 2014 in Melbourne. — 9 years ago

Excellent GSM blend (42% Grenache, 40% Syrah, 18% Mourvèdre) from the Grampians in Western Victoria (Oz), blue and black-fruited Syrah and tree bark Mourvèdre aromas and flavors, less red-fruited Grenache in this subtly higher acid 2021 vs. the 2022 that is also open, finish is a little cleaner and less tannic, long, lingering finish, my preference of this 2021 vs. 2022 showdown. — 8 months ago
