Australian Cabernet line-up: Moving east to west, all the fruit in this one is from several areas in South Australia from one of the most iconic producers on the continent. Young, and Bordeaux in feel with bright red fruit tones on the nose, faintly minty, and dried herb. Unfortunately for me with the average retail on this one, I dont feel that it holds a torch to others from Australia or around the world in that price bucket. I have enjoyed the other upper level offerings from Penfolds such as the RWT Shiraz, but this one was just a little underwhelming. Maybe too young, but overall good effort.

I love the nose on this wine deep rich dark currant and cassis with violets and blackberries. The wine has excellent structure and is showing well already and should drink amazingly over the next 10-15 years.
