Dark inky in color, with a beautiful pronounced nose.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Very fruity on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing red and black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco, cola, coffee and peppercorn.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This delicious Syrah from Napa Valley is still very young, and needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly, but already drinking beautifully. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Showing good potential to become a 94+ point wine.

Rich, extracted and fruit forward. Showing good balance and elegance.

I've had a few vintages of this wine before, and it is very consistent. A great sipping wine.

A blend of 90% Syrah with 10% Petite Sirah. Aged in all new French oak barrels for 20 months.

Aromas of black fruit, leather and cedar. Flavors of blackberry, blueberry, boysenberry and black cherry fruit, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, black licorice and tobacco. Hints of vanilla and baking spices on the long and lingering finish. Bold and well structured tannins. Moderate acidity. Full bodied with a very rich texture. 2021 vintage. Decanted and passed, with high air, between two decanters four times. If it were Caymus, woulda used a blender and forgotten. Last tasted 8.5.26 (9.6) Older (60's, 70's and early 80's) vintages more fruit driven which is quite the surprise in the current Napa Cab climate. Arguably the best GDL Private Reserve this estate has ever made. That goes back six decades. Supple, velveteen entry without the temptations of appearing over-extended. Structured mid-palate.
