Pinot Noir 2016

A bouquet of vanilla and misty mountain evening air. Nice fall spice finish. — 2 years ago

Château Daugay

St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Quite nice: the structure has come together noticeably in the past two years: it’s the 2012, and it wasn’t quite balanced after 6 years but now, at 8, it works. You get nice misty earth on the nose, ripe fruit on the approach, with soft tannins and a little soft mineral on the finish. — 4 years ago

Misty Gulch Vineyard Chardonnay

One of my favorites of my recent Santa Cruz visit. So reductive but bright. Zippy and addictive, I kept coming back for more. — 8 months ago

Gooseberry, lime and honey notes. — 2 years ago

Bailly-Reverdy

Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc

Idk if it’s because we accidentally left this in the fridge for 5 years lol oops but it was AMAZING. Citrusy and goaty, with acidity and sweetness totally in balance. Tasted like misty summer woods. — 3 years ago

Domaine des Terres Dorées (Jean-Paul Brun)

Charme Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Crémant de Bourgogne Chardonnay 2016

This has a richness and austerity rare in the under $30 world. It’s complete, elegant, and sophisticated. Green and yellow apples, Asian pear, lemon, and misty yeast backdrop. — 5 years ago

Kékfrankos 2020

When it’s cool and misty out after a long week and you just want to put on lounge pants, order a pizza to go and pop a natty kekfrankos. A little spritzy, with crunchy fruit — sour cherry, black currant, black plum. So alive and expressive! — a year ago

Calera Wine Company

Jensen Vineyard Pinot Noir 2012

Used to think Pinot Noir lives in Burgundy until I tried old single vineyard Calera. These are epic wines. Red and dark fruit, rustic woods reminiscent of walking in Bois de Boloigne on a misty evening. Slight mushroom with wet tobacco and a whiff of fresh roasted coffee. I have not tried Calera post Josh Jenssen. Ryan and Mills are great vineyards too. — 4 years ago
