Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir

1996 Claude Dugat Charmes-Chambertin. Drank during Quarantine dinner of lamb chops. Decanted 1 hr before and that was right. Casablanca lily, clove, allspice, cedar. Really complex. Not a lot of fruit upfront.

1996 Claude Dugat Charmes-Chambertin. Opened and didn’t decant. Opened up in the glass. Super complex. Lots of earthy notes (forest floor, mushrooms, barnyard), floral (violet), and fruit (dark cherry). Having a hard time discerning all the flavors going on. Muscular- it doesn’t wilt in your mouth- but feminine and floral too. Wonderful wine. Phenomenal. Ideally, open 1 hour before serving. No need to decant (or a quick decant if serving right away)

Misty, in yo' face raspberry jam, leather and barnyard campfire of lavender/rose cuttings. Many, many years left on this one.

Incredibly dense nose. Toasty and intense fruit. Really lush dark blue and red berry with a deep undertow of savory, forestry notes- almost new world in mouthfeel. Very pure and powerful. A tour de force. What fruit!... deep and long
