There is almost no red left to this bad boy, a complex color of brick, caramel, brown, roan.
The nose has a deep, delicious, stickiness, tar, spice, carob, clove, burnt orange peel, more. A swirl brings more.
There’s citrus in the nose, but it’s deep and teasing. Smelling, your mind wanders to places known and unknown.
P: is luscious, completely balanced. Tannins present but integrated. Liquorice, menthol, cocoa, mushrooms , dark red candy, the woods, creosote that lingers and turns into sweet tar. A complete pkg.
I believe at peak.
One of the finest Baroli I’ve encountered.

Gorgeous clear cherry on the nose. Round and opulent and so pretty. Spice, cinnamon, tar, tobacco, so clear and vivid. Palate is ripe, deep, powerful and very concentrated. Really this is a large scaled wine but still has an elegant yet intense structure. Red fruits all the way and a bit awkward initially and needs maybe 40 minutes to get there. Delicious stuff. Long finish and really high quality fruit that only comes from a top top vintage. — 2 years ago

Undoubtedly one of the best price for value wines. Amazing! — 7 months ago
Some say Nerello Mascalese is like a combination of Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo. In this case I’d say it’s all Pinot-characteristics that dominate. Sweet scent. Alot of ripe berries, cinnamon, nougat, black tea and a juicy texture. A fair share of french oak here, but not in a negative way. — a year ago
