Quite primary but really expressive for a young L’Ermitage Blanc from Chave. Juicy pear, nectarine and mandarins orange fruit that pairs well with notes of hazelnuts, candle wax and creamy brown spice. Unctuous, hedonistic and dense on the palate with pear, blood orange, quince and nectarine favors. The unctuous nature is kept in check with mineral notes if warm stones and graphite. There is superb density to the fruit and spice. The finish is long with orchard fruit tones and vibrant mineral notes. Dynamite to drink currently but has such potential for increased complexity and depth. Really needs 10 more years in the cellar before the next evaluation. The best young Chave Blanc I have tasted and I have been fortunate to try them young since the 1997 vintage. — 12 hours ago
Elegant nose with black current, plum and black raspberry fruit with accents of graphite and tamari. Palate shows high toned cassis, plum and pomegranate fruit with sweet fruit tannins and energetic, zesty acidity. Mineral driven berry fruit tones dominate the finish. So precisely balanced that it is throughly enjoyable now but demonstrates the potential for and easy 7 to 10 years of development. — 11 days ago
I'd probably save my money for something more unique in the retail $80 range, BUT in the $30 clearance world, this is exceptional and I come out ahead. Intensity, concentration, texture, and assemblage that I'd generally have to shell out for. Drink this at a warmer cellar temp to get the full effect.
It smells like vanilla spiced lemon poppy seed coffee cake with cinnamon crumble. The mouth introduces tropical accents - lemon meringue, sweet pineapple, and starfruit.
The texture is a tight rope act of melting cream and acid - ying and yang, fair exchange. — 19 days ago
Light straw colour with notes of bread, lemon, pear, apricot and white flower on the nose. Lively and ample mousse with a bright acidity. On the palate, lemon, tart green apple, unripe pear, white peach with some chalk and wet stone minerality. Long finish with a lemon zing and brioche. Very enjoyable but still very young and will be awesome in another 5 years! — 19 days ago
Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, espresso and sweet floral notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, strawberry and ripe black cherry with notes of cacao, vanilla and dried herbs. Fine rich tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and earthy mineral notes. Tried twice! — a day ago
Very pretty. Strength in presence and impact but so tastefully done. This is our first Chambolle-Musigny and now we want more! Interested to see how it evolves over the next couple of hours but just very lovely up front right after opening — 2 days ago
Beautiful aromas of red fruit, purple flowers and earth. Bright cherry and strawberry fruit flavors with notes of truffle and just a touch of baking spices. Crunchy texture and medium body. Elegant and bold. Beautiful acidity. This Beaujolais has filled out nicely with a little bit of bottle age. — 12 days ago
