Enderle & Moll

Muschelkalk Pinot Noir 2017

Addictive and absolutely stunning. Super elegant and lean when compared to the Buntsandstein from E&M. Ethereal cherry 🍒 light as air. Crushed Marble. Essentially like a Premier Cru Chambolle Musigny from the slopes of the black forest. Tannin’s fully resolved. Drink Up!!!! I would not keep this longer. From here on out it will loose its luster. — 2 years ago

Zotzenberg Riesling 2018

Costco find. Opened up very much with petrol and diesel on the nose and mouth. But it turned beautifully into a floral and crystalline expression of fruit. Not much depth but good acidity to balance out the sweetness. Eminently quaffable even with a very hearty moose curry. — 4 years ago

Château Talbot

Saint-Julien Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2000

A wine to drink without food to fully appreciate as it is at a point where it is starting to loose its intensity but has lots of complexity still. Don't wait too much longer — 6 years ago

Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

2005 vintage. Last tasted 11.23.23 (9.4), 11.15.19 (9.4), 06.01.17 (9.5) Last bottle. Respectable, low neck fill. Used a Durand and excellent cork. Decanted with sticky (to the bottle) sediment and not that much floating loose to navigate. Tasted after 30 minutes. Those inimitable, sexy Cos stylings. Medium/medium heavy (still!?) bod. Richness. Ample fruit. Slight amount of aged George Clinton/Bootsy funk. Highly restrained tannins. Woah. This. Did. Not. Suck. Time to reorder. 9.13.25. — 9 months ago

@Somm David T Dunno how many you have lying around but if it be multiples, like 3+, I’d crack one for the holidaze or before to assess. If it is not at the top of the bell curve, it’s pretty damned close. Can’t imagine it getting better.

Roosevelt Riding a Moose Puglia Primitivo 2021

An interesting primitivo. The fruit is a bit more subdued favoring light kisses of plum and currant. The cognac barrel stands out prominently. I get cocoa powder and a bit of vanilla, maybe a touch of tobacco. It's full bodied that balances out a tannic and alcoholic finish. Still has the intangibles of a primitivo but makes me want some brandy. Creamy mouthfeel, touch of slate. Would love to have again. — 3 years ago

Petrus Aged Pale Grand Reserve

Looks like peach nectar, with the lightest, looping bubbles in a loose bunch atop, becomes a petri sample of fruit fungus, then all clear to firework lacing and morning mist. Big wood notes, though not as toasty in parts, cigar box, funky softwood of dead forest fall, ripe for mushrooms. Lovely dried lemon peel, orange peel, and dried apricot in cigar boxes, live pineapple and pencil shavings in a clean attic. On the palate, yellow cherry, funky sour pineapple, lime-cedar, lemongrass, savory, dried okra, a drop of orange bitters, nose filling blood orange, and lemon oil for the duration. Fantastic nuances, amazing balance, woody depth. Just fine craftsmanship here, from the old school. — 7 years ago

Cuvée des Moines Brut Rosé Champagne Blend

Lovely pink salmon color, effervescent, loose bubbles. Aromas of delicate red fruit, and brioche. Flavors of strawberry and crisp green apples, but no sweetness and not yeasty. Very lovely brut rosé!! Definitely would recommend! — 8 years ago

Volnay Pinot Noir 2022

Very juicy and flashy. Almost too bright. Needs to settle down. Cherry, hint blueberry quite rich at this point. Hint black tea, touch bitter. Needs at least 5 years to loose its baby fat. Enjoy now or wait. Very well made & DIAM30 cork. Unfortunately 100$. — 10 months ago

Château de Villars Fontaine

le Haut du Village Pinot Noir 2010

Quite light garnet core with a wide watery garnet rim . Quite reserved and closed at first , with light red currant , herbal wild strawberry , ripe red cherry and earthy , dry spices . On the palate this has quite a rustic , tannic profile for a simples Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits , with quite fresh acidity but has enough cool strawberry , raspberry , red currant and earthy sous bois to fill out on the palate . Balanced alcohol and reasonable length , with a hint of bitterness . Pretty old school and rustic in style but certainly individual and has personality. In this vintage at least there is just enough mid palate to deal with the extended aging in oak . This does need a little time to open up and requires food and arguably needs a little more time , though I do worry that with more time in bottle it will loose the little fruit that it still has . So drink now and over the next 5 years or so . Overall probably the best red I have had from Chateau de Villars Fontaine . — a year ago

La Bulle-Moose de Cigare Fizzy Pink of the Earth Grenache Blend Rose 2017

Well, it's def not flat. The wine -- from a can -- pours up nice and frothy, retreating quickly to a frizzante status. The nose is beautiful and worthy of a picnic. Bright, fresh strawberry and cherry aromas dominate, with a touch of sage and earth. The flavors are ripe and sweet, with an earthy touch befitting a good rosé. Acidity is perfect, great for food pairing as well as sipping. The winemaker suggests you serve it very cold, and that will make it a great summertime wine. — 8 years ago
