Le Vin De François

Domaine François Raveneau

Montée de Tonnerre Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2013

Not sure there are better 13 whites than Raveneau. Lafon also comes to mind. It’s an early drinking vintage (by Raveneau standards) while you wait for 12 and 14. Also, no Chapelot this year so it’s blended in here. A multi hour advance decant has it rocking, stunningly aromatic, soaring with layers of créme fraîche, baking spice, crushed stones and a whisper of botrytis influenced saffron. The palate shows immense power, concentration and depth of waxy yellow fruit chiseled with Chablisen minerality. Brilliant tension and racy lemony acids provide a seamless balance to its power and richness. MDT always hits 🫰🏻 — 2 days ago

François Chidaine

Les Choisilles Montlouis-sur-Loire Chenin Blanc 2020

So,so bright, concentrated & clear. Fennel, endive, & rum soaked apples on nose ( tasted blind a friend thought Jura ); on palate more of those freshly cut vegetables with more apple and underripe pear notes. Intense. And so young. So many miles to go. I always never buy enough of Chidaine, to my regret. But drinking at any stage is so mesmerizing. Like a shooting star. — a month ago

Bright fruit. Almost tropical with hints of mango and bright bold flavors. Minerality and purity with great poise. Delicious — 12 days ago

Jean François Ganevat

Les Grands Teppes Vieilles Vignes Côtes du Jura Chardonnay 2015

Stood upright for a week so the particles would settle in the bottom. I decanted so I could get a clear glass and could see the puff of sulfur and all the bubbles or effervescence in the decanter. Very yeasty for the first 30 minutes and took longer than that for it to lose the effervescence. Not sure if any of this helped or hindered the results 🫠 — 25 days ago

Château Léoville-Las Cases

Grand Vin de Leoville du Marquis de las Cases Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

This should cellar longer. Maybe another 5 yrs before I try again. Decanted over 3 hrs. Tight in first hour. It needs a lot air now. Many layers and complex fruit. It lingers. Meaty after taste. Dark fruit. Earthy. I liked it very much and look forward to the next one. — 2 days ago

Clos Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 1988

Buttery aromas and flavors up front, lemon, sea salt, just amazing cut, acidity and depth, super long, lingering finish, yet still very youthful overall, this is why we all buy Raveneau Chablis (Les Clos being the pinnacle), well, for me, “used to buy” (LOL)!! Amazing, a true WOW wine!! — 24 days ago

The newest project to their line this wine is incredible. Speechless. The wines can hit astronomical prices in the U.S. but if you absolutely love wine, Chardonnay or Chablis you must try anything Francois Raveneau. — 16 days ago
