Fruity nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing plums, currants, light wood, earth, spices, coffee, herbs, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, black pepper, pencil lead and black tea.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Margaux. Nicely balanced and easy drinking. Fruit forward and elegant.

Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel, spicy and Interesting.

This 10 year old from the great 2016 vintage is still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.

Needed a few hours to open up properly, which I didn't have, and it might have been a bit better with more airtime. Already enjoyable even by itself, and a good food wine too.

A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and 32% Merlot. Aged in (60% new) French Oak barrels for 16 months.

A brilliant vintage for this wine. A top 5 Crozes. Easy. Spice, game, some funk, blueberry, black berry, black cherry, huge granite and even some wilted flowers. Young but tasty palate of dazzling granite and velvety tannins and engaging energy from the minerality. Terrific power, depth and concentration. Needs 5 years. So long and such beautifully defined fruit on the incredibly long finish. Really rich and dark. Awesome. Wait 5 years. As this opens the balance becomes superb. Almost a 9.4. End of the fiscal year. Long one but a good one so this is an exhausted versus drown sorrows drink ;) Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2024 (12 Year, 107 proof)

Nose is surprisingly light for the proof. Soft sweetness, light oak, and a hint of rye spice.

On the palate it isn’t heavy, but it fills the whole mouth. The heat shows early and stays present, reading higher than 107. Sweetness is there but restrained. More spice builds with time, rye-forward and focused on the tip and top of the tongue, with some grip on the cheeks. Oak stays light rather than deep or dusty.
