Excellent Domestique white blend. Light crisp apples — a year ago
2020 vintage. General manager Laure Canu states that Cantemerle has never followed trends and will always be a wine of elegance, never showy. And that is exactly what it is. After 15 minutes in the glass, it displays bright cassis fruit, mixed with flowers and cedar wood. Medium-bodied, fresh, and elegant, with more complexity and more refined tannins, compared to the 2018. Very good length too. This is the finest Cantemerle I have ever tasted. Incredible value too. Abv. 13,5 %. — a year ago
2022 vintage. Dark red, much deeper colour than usual for this estate. Marie-Laure Lurton seems to have gone for a bit more extraction in this exceptional vintage. More powerful than usual, with a fresh black fruit personality, embedded in a tight, ripe tannic structure. Serious length too. Decanting recommended,as it showed better the next day. Ab. 14%. — 4 months ago
Delicious Volnay. This was the last wine tasted on our 1 week trip to Burgundy. What you don’t see in all these Burg pics was all the tasting we did of the 2022 vintage which is either still in barrels or tanks. We were able to taste ~250 wines from the 2022 vintage. Quality looks good, quantity is way above 2021. 2023 was even more full in terms of quantity. Sante. — a year ago
2020 vintage. Anne-Laure Sicard made very nice wine from the beginning (first vintage 2016), but they get better and better. This 2020 is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault and it shows huge potential. — 2 years ago
The premier cru designation is legit. Much more subdued and balanced compared to its sister. Wonderful stuff. — 6 months ago
From 100yo vines. Very spicy, savoury character. Funky rhubarb and vegetal notes on the nose. The palate is full of dark fruit and spice. Very concentrated. A singular expression. — a year ago
Interesting red with bright fruit and barn yard funk. Paired well with my pork loin and oriechette with mushroom Bolognese. — 2 years ago
2020 vintage. Tour de Rieux is one of the 5 estates owned by the Fabre family in the Languedoc. Claire Fabre inheritated this Minervois estate in 2016. The vineyards are situated in the Laure Minervois, a pretender to the crown of specific "Cru" in the Languedoc. A very good effort in the "no added sulfites " category that is often more error than trial. It is light and refreshing with a nice spicy finish. Lovely, if simple. Abv. 13,5%. — 3 years ago
