This must have been quite an “in your face” wine when younger. This still has loads of fruit and sweet candy on the nose and palette. Soft tannins, some vanilla from the oak barrels. Nice balance! I guess this is in its sweet spot concerning drinking window. I am loving this a lot! — 7 days ago
Second time trying this and more time on this occasion to study it.
In short, this is an exceptional traditional style Rioja that has a long life ahead.
How it looks - deep ruby red but hints of brick orange at edge already.
How it sniffs - leaping out of the glass. This is an unmistakably traditional rioja with plenty of oxidative oaky aroma married with dried red fruit and savoury meat.
How it tastes - oddly, this tasted more youthful and vivacious on the second night, whereas on the first (with no decant) it seemed slightly more mellow and reserved. No doubt, this is more towards the traditional side of Rioja with ten years of age and not dissimilar in style to a Tondonia. I have more hope this time however for the longevity of the wine. This has acidity to last years. Tannins are fine grained and in some sense mellow, but there’s so much going on with the palate to make this well worthy of extended cellar time. It is racy, vivacious and exceptionally well put together with plenty of red fruit, dried meat, savoury and vanilla notes. The finish is long, dry and exemplary of a harmonious, perfect Rioja.

Organic Tempranillo, low sulfites, no oak. Much lighter than a typical Rioja. Nice chilled. Still a little leather, black pepper, raspberry, strawberry, slate. Bright acids. From Amaro Spirits and Wines. — 4 days ago
Just love this wine, just gets better and better, had bottle for Fat Tuesday. Deep Ruby with an elegant bouquet of berry fruits, light spice with fresh earthy tones, a traditional Rioja. On the palate, the wine was silky smooth with layers of flavors, berry and cherry, tobacco, smoky cedar, dark fruit, vanilla spice, very well balanced with fine tannins and a clean structure ending with a nice lingering finish. Delicious! Can age well into next decade. — 2 days ago
Vanilla, blackberry, cherry, black currant, chocolate and a bit of leather too. The palate is good with a nice balance. A very strong acid backbone which makes it very easy to sip on. A bright black fruit all along, some grip on the sides and a milky thing on the sides. Some tannins that spice up everything before a very fresh finish with these black fruits. This is surprisingly easy and fresh. I like it — 5 days ago
Textbook gran reserva from the northern part of Rioja. Nose of cassis, dark fruit,, and prunes with hints of tobacco and a bit of leather. Strong acidity holds it all together on the palate while flavors of vanilla and oak lead to a lingering finish. I really like this - it has aged well. 2007 vintage on Feb 6, 2020 — 15 days ago
This is a very tasty red blend from Rioja. Showing red and black fruits with earth, chocolates, tobacco, spices, oak, vanilla, licorice and peppercorn.
Dry on the palate and medium plus in body.
Nice finish with firm tannins. Needs 90 minutes to open up properly.
This 6 years old is peaking now. Very tasty.
I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.
14% alcohol by volume. Kosher.
90 points. — a day ago
A nose with qualities of the northern Rhone. Not your typical "classic" Rioja. Clean and precise nose with great intensity and complexity. The palate is lively and structured with great tension. Focused on just ripened black fruit, pepper, flowers, coffee and stoniness. Well balanced and a nice finish. This will be fun to see in 10 years. — 12 days ago
