Consistently great wine. Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, dark berry, dark cherry, currants, cinnamon and spice, dark chocolate and smoked oak. On the palate, rich and full bodied, jammy fruits, dark berries and cherry, dark chocolate, hints of cinnamon, balsamic and espresso, smokiness/smoked oak. Long finish with hints of smoked citrus rind. Nice, chewy tannins. — 25 days ago
Produced by Vega Sicilia and Bodegas Benjamin De Rothschild, aged in mostly French oak (new and 1 year old) for about 12 months, deep Ruby with aromas of fresh fruits and spice. On the palate flavors of fresh youthful berry fruit, cherry, licorice, vanilla and well integrated cedar. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit character, cacao and cedar character , very nice! — 7 days ago
A favorite Rioja. Fortunate to have visited the vineyard and bought this bottle there. Aged a few years and it is delicious. — 20 days ago
Bright crimson in colour. Notes of Camphor and Sandalwood together with tarry red and black fruits. A rich flavoursome and savoury palate - medium to full bodied - a fleeting tobacco note. Firm yet silky tannins. Very polished. One of the best Tempranillos (actually 86% Tempranillo and 14% Garnacha) I’ve ever had - up there with Vega Sicilia. Shows the versatility of the Tempranillo grape and its suitability to the warm climes of Spain. One of the 1001 Wines. 98 points from Jay Miller of the Wine Advocate. — 5 days ago
