Shimmering ruby-red. Smoke-tinged aromas of candied cherry and blackberry, along with vanilla and espresso nuances. Juicy and energetic on the palate, offering concentrated, appealingly sweet red and blue fruit and spicecake flavors that spread out steadily with air. Well-knit tannins frame the finish, which hangs on with strong, floral- and spice-driven persistence. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, April 2021)

Before ‘14, last vintage was ‘11, no ‘12 or ‘13. Deep Ruby a blend 70% Tempranillo, 20% Graciano & 10% Mazuelo, aged new French oak for 15 months (‘11 was 24 mos). Ripe red fruit aromas with floral, oak & pepper spice. On palate ripe red fruit flavors, complex with layers of fruit & spice, noting espresso, cacao & licorice. Fine tannins, well balanced, long finish ending with fruit, spice and oak. Decant or let sit in the cellar for a while. Nice! Tried several ‘14’s. — 3 days ago
Aroma is uncanny; a perfume of rose petals and coconut cream wafting from the glass. Totally beguiling. Vanilla and marzipan lead the way with fresh and dried red berries, red cherries, dried flowers and orange peel. So polished, but this needs more time for the oak and fruit to integrate. The 2010 Ardanza remains my favorite now for its classical balance. — 6 days ago
Erg lekkere Rioja, 90% tempranillo, 10% Graciano. Sterke vanille hout tonen en veel rood en zwart fruit.

Deep Ruby, aromas of sweet red and black fruits with pepper spice and oak. 4 grape blend from some of CVNE's best vineyards in the Rioja Alta (85% Tempranillo, rest Garnacha, Mazuelo & Graciano), aged in both French and American oak for 24 months. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants with licorice, vanilla, tobacco & toasty oak tones. Soft full ripe tannins, wonderful balance, lively acidity on a long finish ending with an earthy mineral character. Very nice! Tried several bottles! — 2 days ago
In 1879, 2 brothers decided to set up a wine business, C.V.N.E., Compañía Vinicola del Norte de España (Northern Spanish Wine Company) or la Cuné, as it is commonly known in Haro, created and still kept in traditional neighborhood of Haro station today. Deep Ruby with ripe berry aromas/complex spices, 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo. Palate shows blackberry, cherry, sweet currant with herb, leather, oak & pepper spice. Fine tannins, well balanced good depth & structure, long finish, nice value! — 8 days ago
Love this wine, one of the best whites I've had in awhile. Fruit forward with a bright and crisp finish. — 5 days ago
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Nice fruity nose with cedar, black currants, black cherries, light earth, vegetables, vanilla, licorice, spices, dark chocolates and black pepper.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, leather, vanilla, spices, espresso, chocolates, light earth and peppercorn.
Medium finish with grippy tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a nice Tempranillo from Rioja. Still young, but already enjoyable, even by itself.
Good right out of the bottle, but after an hour of airtime, tannins come in with nice structure. I really enjoyed the nose here.
Showing a great mouthfeel, but might be much for some (grippy tannins). Needs 5 years in the bottle to chill out.
I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.
100% Tempranillo grapes were aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

A classic. 100% Viura from the Zaconia vineyard, located right outside López de Heredia’s winery in Haro. Fermented in ancient oak vats with indigenous yeasts and aged in used barrels for four years, followed by another 6 years in bottle. Complex nose with oxidative notes. Chamomile, flowers, beeswax, lemon curd. Austere on the mouth, with great acidity and freshness. Long, subtly salty finish. Amazing — 9 days ago
