Eponym' Morgon Gamay 2015

I’m trying to just get through the last of my 15 Bojos. Such a clumsy, blocky vintage. This one is one of the better ones. Tangy, ripe nose also sports smoky crushed rock. Flavorful and full in the mouth. Decent acids keep it from being a hot mess. A little flat in the finish. Not elegant, but a very nice dinner accompaniment. — 17 days ago

Les Fichots Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2015

Lyle Fass

Bright, buoyant nose. Big 15 sunshine and sappy macerated late season cherries, earth, forest floor, cherry cough syrup. Ripe. Palate is ripe with great acidity and cut. Very accessible for this cuvee which usually needs years. Clean, fresh and very pure with superb balance. Long finish with some velvety tannins. Great now but will improve tremendously in the next 2-5 years and hang on for 10 more. — 11 days ago

Côte du Py Morgon Gamay 2017

Very good restaurant list value. Classic Morgon with strawberry and raspberry fruit combined with earth and tobacco. Bolder than other Morgon’s I’ve had, but I actually love that quality. Tannins went nicely with the beef and pork. — 16 days ago

Hermitage Syrah 1978

1978. Garnet color. Cork in good shape. Leather, roasted meat, animal nose. Soft and very balanced on the palate. Long finish. The other one I had last year was better. Still fantastic though. — 3 days ago

L'Hermitage Syrah 2011

Ok. This is my personal favorite wine, no matter the vintage, varietal or the dollar value. If i was granted one wine forever, this is it. As a Rhône warrior it exceeds expectations, and drinks like an amazing burgundy. Still young, no nose upon opening. An hour later this massive floral nose permeates though the rum of the glass. Tannins not fully integrated yet with a pleasant acidity. Time is beyond its friend. Earth tones are present along with expresso and tobacco. Red fruit front and center with a long finish. Wish this could be everyday Allday. — 2 days ago

Really enjoying this. Another muted nose, suggesting it’s being served below optimal temp. That being said, it’s still pristine with notes of almond and butterscotch to begin, followed by sherbet and citrus fruits. Medium-weighted, complemented with a bright finish. Good bang for the buck! — 2 days ago

Vivid and bright on the nose with floral, citrus and mineral. Very crisp and zesty on the palate with lovely thrust and a hint of sweetness. Very good. — a day ago
