Nose is cherry perfume. Mellow but gorgeous.
Palate is cherry and cherry lipstick. Fresh. Juicy, delicious. Hint of cherry licorice.
Giraffe is a model of consistency. Never a bad bottle.
As this opens more gods cherry density. Wow.

Sadly the last commercial vintage from the “pope of Arbois.” (I guess “Puff Daddy” was already taken). Excited to try some of the newer releases from Domaine du Pelican who acquired a lot of Puffeney’s holdings. As for this wine, it’s exceptionally beautiful and I’m just going to enjoy it rather than pick it apart. Elegant, vivacious, soulful, just really captivating and only gaining in intensity with time in the glass. — 24 days ago
Nose starts out a bit funky, but the horsiness blows off and you have cooling sour cherry, soil tones, mineral, moss, good aroma but it needs to open. Palate is gorgeous. Elegant, textured and so fine. Super juicy and clean, stunningly pure. Long. Lovely elegant structure. Good depth and lovey sappy fruit. Clean as a whistle and impressively pure. — 9 days ago
Tasted blind. Reddish tawny, looks younger than the other reds served before it. Notes of ripe bing cherries, iron, earth, rhubarb and some raspberries. Rich and round in the mouth. Very refined, very pure expression. Guessed 95 Dugat Charmes Chambertin. I liked this as much as any of the other bottles today. Great wine. 96+ — 2 days ago
The ultra rare Tete de Cuvée of Jacques Lassaigne that is aged in barrels for cognac and old Ganevat Vin Jaune. Intense and expressive showing caramelized golden apples, crushed salted almonds and a chalky minerality. Finishes long and with excellent precision. — 20 days ago
