Pepper jam, peppery and jammy, peppers jammed into a waft, put some pep in my jam. Think I’m gettin high off the boozy bouquet fumes.

Recommended by the French man at MFC Rare Wines in the West Village, an intimate little shop tucked away off the main intersection.

He said this vintage in particular really surprised him, so I made the impulse buy.

This wild thing delivers. Jammy for sure, but also hits those herbal and sharp tart and juicy fruit notes. We’ll balanced acidity. A good chew for sure.

The Envinate line comes from a group of four friends who make natural inspired, and sometimes incredibly complex wines mostly from a tiny pocket in the Canary Islands. They can be so good they become a rare intersection of the natural and somm worlds, which tend not to play nice together.
Louses is a gorgeous, complex, elegant field blend with heavy accents of Mencia. It has cocoa, raspberries, blackberries, cedar, and the softest plushest pillow texture. — 4 years ago

Stew of sticky mahogany maraschino cherries and raspberry jam, cola and medicinal herbs. At once fruit, and other times chocolate fudge, always accents of mint and spruce.

Really enjoyed this. Warm strawberry leather, blackberry, black cherry, and red plum sauce. Dusty earth, white pepper, pencil lead, hint of cocoa, and tobacco. Right at the intersection of old world earthiness with ripe (to slightly overripe) fruit. Excellent w Birria tacos. Decanted in advance.

Dark, stoney blend of 1/3 Pinot and 2/3 Gamay. Shows as much as it's less finesse, more structure and grippy - at the intersection of mineral rich earth and fresh red berry. Notes of black pepper, graphite and cedar. Dark chocolate covered cherries and fruit leather strips.
