Wonderful Chardonnay from grapes grown at Hyde Vineyard in Carneros (vines planted in 1979). Lemony acidity and green apple with some almond and vanilla bean on the finish from the subtle oak. Very balanced, a little oily. Medium bodied at 12.8% abv. Had it with spicy stewed mixed beans and arugula-radicchio slaw in oregano lime vinaigrette. — a month ago

Broad fruit.Some tertiary stuff. Citrus confit. Poached pears. Coconut. Plenty of acid keeps it fresh. 14.1 maybe a touch hot on the finish if I’m bring a critic, but this is complex and delicious. Hits its stride with an hour of air. // edit: left 200ml in the bottle overnight in the fridge. Still delicious on day two but definitely verging oxidized and better yesterday. Wine #1400th for me. I suppose destiny is destiny. Sort of has a special way of it find you, not you find it. Finally was able to try this highly coveted wine and with some age. Great chard, fresh and crisp with hints of stone fruit and citrus plus an earthy finish. Cheers. — 5 months ago
