I haven’t had a lot of experience with Napa Valley Chardonnay but this was most enjoyable. Rich and mouth filling, creamy. Stone fruit and almonds. Barb said white flowers on the nose. Apparently this was picked early and malolactic fermentation was blocked. Oak influence is totally integrated - balanced. I paid $147 AUD in Brisbane in September 2021. Served around 55°F. The cork looked all kinds of nasty underneath the capsule but I was able to extract it, intact, with the help of a Durand. I then poured the bottle into a decanter about 30min prior to service. At the ripe age of 41, the 1983 pours a deep gold with a transparent core; medium viscosity with some slight signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of baked stone fruits: peach, apricot, marmalade, hazelnuts, baked lemon, and those gummy peach rings. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is creamy, buttery. I thought this was a lovely, mature Corton Charlemagne and while it is very much alive, its life-force is fading. Drink now. — 7 hours ago

All of the grapes from the vineyards owned by the Latter family are vinified and aged in the cuverie of Château Corton Grancey in Aloxe-Corton. The winery was the first purpose-built cuverie in France and remains the oldest still-functioning. Medium pale lemon color with aromas of stone fruits with a slight nutty floral character. On the palate flavors of peach and melon with lemon citrus and savory notes. Medium+ finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, toasty oak and minerality. Nice! — 5 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Significantly better on Day 2 as the wine completely opened up. The 2021 Amador County pours a pale yellow color with medium+ viscosity and no signs of particles or gas. On the nose, the wine is clean; developing with notes of golden apples, quince, lemon verbena, white tree flower, lanolin, and wet stone. On the palate, the wine is dry with super sneaky, high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with a woolly texture. Lovely stuff. Drink now with patience and a lot of air otherwise better after 2026 and should be great through 2035. — 19 days ago

Really a lovely Bordeaux style blend from Sullivan in Napa. I am biased as I spent a summer working there. Quite seamless, some nice cassis, has really come into balance. Bit of that refreshing menthol laced acid refreshing note on the finish. Delicious and wonderful pairing with steaks on the grill. — an hour ago
