Malvirà

Roero Arneis 2022

Let this warm a bit from fridge temp.
Large glass.
Briny, acid packed, ( there’s not a lot of nose…yet) straw/hay, yellow stone fruits. Really nice lingering pricklinesses,
Goes very well with Charred raab & orange shrimp. In my glass, quite orange tinged, in the Mrs. Smaller glass, pale white?
Thanks @PLCB

Ridge Vineyards

Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2009

Decanted 1.5 hours. Not quite at the level of some other monte bellos I’ve had, but still very nice. Nose is wonderful - easily a 9.4+ nose. Lots of dark cherry and some earthy / hay / forest floor notes. But this doesn’t quite have the full mouthfeel and depth I was hoping for. Finish is slightly tannic with good acid. Nice pairing with pork chops - and a fun bottle for my son’s 2nd bday. — 9 months ago

A standout bottle at any 2YOs party IMHO!

Domaine Bertrand

Les Fouillouses Julienas Gamay 2019

Cherry, hay, earth, plum somehow. Nice typical nose. The palate is well designed with a great acid backbone, a nice cherry note that shines all through the palate, soft, almost cushiony mouthfeel, a great build up in the rear with a tiny tannins effect that create a tiny distorsion in the mouthfeel before a fruit forward finish with a tiny bitter note that pops up. In a much better place than the last bottle. 2 more bottles out of the 6-box we bought in August last year — 2 years ago

Clos Ste. Magdeleine

Cassis Blanc Marsanne Blend 2022

Delicate nose of green mango rind, tart green citrus, maybe wet sea sand, with a touch of hay, with some slight bakers goods notes underneath. Light bodied, grassy and mineral on the palate, with notes of honeydew melon, maybe some ash, underripe green fruits, maybe herbaceous notes, but slightly creamy on the finish, with a palate or maybe green lush grass. Very interesting! — 3 months ago

Bodegas Numanthia

Numanthia Toro Tempranillo 2008

The advantage of the 1.5L bottle. The wine is drinking beautifully. Great maker that let's you move down to Numanthia Termes for value in a large gathering or up to a Numanthia Termanthia for select friends in small gathering. This one threads the needle very nicely. This '08 is a big fruit black cherry number with earthy tones — 9 months ago

Brut Excellence Tête de Cuvée Vouvray Chenin Blanc

For $22 you could do a lot worse. Fine bubbles, pear, hay or straw, med/med+ flavor intensity. Great QPR… — 3 months ago

Lovedale Hunter Valley Sémillon 2009

Very pale lemon in colour particularly for a 13 year old wine. Aromas of wet hay, toast, lime and lemon curd notes. On the palate that soapy lanolin like texture you get with aged Semillon. My last 2009. If I had another one it would be ok to drink in the next few years. A prolific trophy winner on the Australian Show Circuit as you can see from the label. — 2 years ago
