Small red and black forest berries, cherry, hay, a bit of milky thing (jogurt?) and a tiny bit of heat. The palate is very well designed. A strong acid backbone, a good width, some nice red fruits all along, a good grip. Some tannins in the rear, creating a layer of asperity and adding a bit of complexity. Very long fruity finish, with a tangy twist. This seems to be still very young. It had been opened for a full hour before pouring and the bottle has been drank over a 4 hours span before this rating.

Second take on this one in the same vintage. Prior notes apply for the nose which shows barrel and oak rather strongly along with a wonderful, ripe cherry and some hay. The palate is good with a nice acid backbone creating a frame in which that nice ripe cherry can be in full effect. There is width and grip, and some tannins to kick things in the rear, they deliver a slightly drying, dusty mouthfeel that gives way to a very long cherry powered finish. We had it along some quite spicy (let's face it hot) chicken drums and it stood its ground. Good one.

The nose is a bit on the secondary aromas side with a bit of oak and some toast. Then there is a bright sour cherry touch and some hay. Even a bit of leather. The palate is well designed with a strong acid backbone, some bright fruit, a good grip and some width, as should be expected for a Gevrey, strong, unresolved tannins. The finish is long and powerful with fruit and some complexity thanks to the tannins. Very good village level Gevrey.
