Dark Ruby red in colour. Red florals - rose petals, hint of geranium, leafy, dusty Bordeaux, cedar, elegant and refined. Way better than my previous two notes. Medium bodied with cassis and a little sweetness but overall impression is restraint and balance. Often it is easy to say refer to earlier notes on Delectable but on this occasion this was a much better tasting experience and what one would expect from such a producer in a good year. Perfect with Roast Beef last Sunday lunch. — 5 years ago
Cloudy but vibrant lemon-gold hue, with intense and intriguing notes of brûléed pineapple, marzipan, baked yellow apple, lemon custard, crème puff, lily of the valley, geranium, yellow peach, mirabelle plum, and sourdough.
Ultra-fine, creamy mousse and tart, with searing acidity to balance the rich texture. Like biting into the perfect not-quite-ripe yellow plum. Some very pleasant autolytic character.
Very likely my favorite California sparkling wine I’ve ever tasted. — 5 years ago
See notes from 124 weeks ago still apply. Notes of mulberry, black currant - a little heavy on the oak but not off putting. Geranium, stalky, peppery, and bay leaf. Medium bodied still with good freshness for 12 years old. Fine grained tannins to finish. In the dress circle of Wilyabrup in Margaret River. Will compare with Woodlands 2nd ranked cuvée from 2010 next. — 6 years ago
Colour of mid Lemon with green tinges. Aromas of mouldy Apple with dust and honey. My wife noted Geranium and cut grass (and generally loved the wine). Perfectly judged oak influence which doesn’t intrude. The next day after use of VacuVin different aromas of grapefruit and honeysuckle. Really must drink more White Bordeaux. Had another bottle 13 weeks later on 18th August 2019 with consistent notes. Slippery mouth feel. Minimal oak influence. Great wine with oysters. — 7 years ago
This fairly pale ruby, tart red fruit little number struts some raspberry and cherry charm. Next it unfolds with fresh earth, tobacco and a bit of smoky cardamom spice. Fine-grained yet lightly tactile tannins, medium acidity, and barely medium body. After 10 mins, fresh rose and geranium. Well balanced, drinkable, good quality with a tart fruit, drying tannic finish. — 8 years ago
peach skins // geranium — a year ago
Wow! The value of this... 17 EUR a bottle, delivery to Poland from France included. This is a steal!
A gorgeous nose of cherry, wet soil, geranium, licorice... This is intense. The palate shows perfect balance with a nice and long acid backbone, some width and a great, almost crunchy texture with a soft mouthfeel that turns into a turbulent sea in midpalate, with tannins sharpening a bit and giving it another layer. The finish is fruit forward, almost umami, with that layer of turbulences gently brushing up that bright fruit to make it a truly enjoyable tasting experience. That's why you love cru Beaujolais... — 4 years ago
Simple, light, but full of charm. Clear purple dress, beautiful shine. Nose typical of the cabernets-francs de Loire. Raspberry, geranium, violet, blackwood, green pepper (but not too much). The mouth is fresh and tense, with a beautiful mineral weft reminiscent of rifle stone, slate or chalk. Served at 15 degrees, it’s a nice treat.
— 5 years ago

Consistent notes as 3 previous tastings over 66 weeks. Mid to dark Ruby in colour. Lovely perfume of mature Cabernet with Geranium, mint and berries. Just a medium weight palate (but good intensity) from a cooler climate in the Coal River Tasmania. Beautifully made and drinking at its peak. My last one of 6. It’s a struggle sometimes in Tasmania to ripen Cabernet grapes sufficiently but Domaine A nearly always shows well. — 6 years ago
Medium ruby color, very classic grenache appearance. Medium intensity, developing aromas of strawberry, strawberry jam, leather, toast, vanilla, geranium and violet. Dry with medium acidity, medium tannin, high alcohol, full-bodied; medium (+) intensity flavors of clove, leather, strawberry, red plum, cedar, graphite and lead pencil. Long finish and outstanding quality. Already approachable, you can drink this now but it certainly has potential for further aging. — 7 years ago
Sunday funday with a little Viognier…
Aromatics and flavors offer pronounced notes of rose, elderflower, geranium alongside wet stone, honey, beeswax, orange peel, tangerine, spiced pear, nutmeg.
The body and mouthfeel are rich and creamy.
As a Vin de Pays — IGP Des Collines Rhodanienne — by Domaine Georges Vernay (winemaker Christine Vernay) it has all of the trappings of a Condrieu at a more affordable price. Cheers! — 3 years ago

So I realize that we’re suppose to have canceled this producer, but in our defense we were offered this wine as consolation when the Bandol we requested was OOS and there were no complaints.
Damn was this wine an epiphany — intensely fragrant with rose petals and geranium on the nose and palate. Ripe nectarines and blood orange with some nebulous savory herbal quality too. A really special wine to pair with a really fabulous birthday girl @Maura Passanisi

Aromatic with notes of peach, rose, and geranium; smooth acidity; $12 at BGarden. — 5 years ago
Mid to deep crimson in colour. Notes of black olive, geranium, red capsicum (peppers). Very dusty and herbaceous. More savoury than fruit driven. Next one in a year. Definitely the most lavish cellar door in Margaret River and a must visit if you are in the District. Had another bottle 70 weeks later on 11th April 2022 with consistent notes - say 91 points. — 6 years ago
As per previous notes. Dense crimson in colour. Cedar, blackberry and geranium. To borrow HH’s phrase “effortless style”. Demonstrates why Coonawarra’s red dirt is marvellous for Cabernet. 96% Cabernet 4% Petit Verdot. The Tally is the top Cuvée from Balnaves. Rich, medium to full bodied. — 6 years ago
Herbal aromas (typically Margaret River) with Geranium Capsicum and a touch of menthol. Some green notes - medium weight. Savoury wins out over Cassis and black fruits. Not in the upper echelon of Margaret River Cabernet. Just a silver medal. We went to the Cellar Door some years ago and the story goes that the Reserve Cab was served at the wedding of Prince Frederick of Denmark to Sydney Real Estate agent Mary Donaldson originally from Tasmania now Crown Princess Mary and one day will become the Queen of Denmark. Fred is a keen sailor who was representing Denmark at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and they met at Sydney hotspot The Slip Inn where Fred was flashing his Black AMEX so the story goes and was captivated by Mary and the rest is history. — 7 years ago
An improved showing on my last notes in January 2016. Surprisingly a youthful purple tinge for 11 years of age. Unmistakably Cabernet. Very leafy with geranium notes - almost intoxicating. More herbal capsicum type flavours than fruit driven. That astringent note of 2 1/2 years ago has gone. Langhorne Creek is an under rated area. — 8 years ago

An appealing white blend of 65% Roussanne and 35% Grenache Blanc is a great tasting journey to explore the variety of expressions unique to the mosaic of terroirs of the southern Rhône Valley. The Costières de Nimes AOC, located near the Mediterranean sea, benefits from maritime influences that provides the wines produces in this location with freshness, roundness and elegance.
This blend delivers a realistic aromatics of Geranium (Crane's-bill), orange and lemon peels to amp up the experience. The uplifting acidity on the mouth is invigorating as result of the mix of herbs and zesty citrus.
The juice is clean and mouthwatering with a stone-driven profile (typical of Costieres de Nimes), the balance of this blend is flavorous and elegant. South asian cuisine will the best pairing, cheers! — a year ago
