No Girls Wines

La Paciencia Vineyard Syrah 2011

9.3

My choice for a Rhône style theme with my local group.

Definitely the oldest No Girls I’ve opened. As expected, these have a Burgundian flair to them in the way they are made when compared to Cayuse/HP/HC. Not as much depth/richness, but there is great acidity and the use of stems is clear. Faint ruby in the glass. Stemmy/green aromatics with herbs de Provence, black olive, Cayuse funk/iron on the nose. Saline, red and black berry driven on the palate with black pepper spice, truffle, beef jerky and big phenolics. Tart and acidic, I followed this over two days, and to my surprise, held up very well. Pop now.

Garrison Creek Cellars

Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Beautiful label! Had this one for several years now in our cellar and as we are planning to go back to Walla Walla and visit Garrison Creek, this be a good opportunity to taste the 2015 Cab. And… hmmm, a bit disappointed. A bit off balance with strong stringent, Rhubarb like flavors and slight green undernotes. Finish also a little unsettling. By no means a bad wine but had expected more. — a month ago

Still very youthful, still has miles ahead. Compacted spice bomb — 3 months ago

Bionic Frog Walla Walla Valley Syrah

Another classic from BF. Still quite young, but with a little decanting -went down like honeydew vine water. — 6 days ago

Leonetti Cellar

Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

One of the best big Cabs. Certainly of Washington State it’s the best Cab in that state. Very smooth, deep rich purple hints of berries. 2016 vintage. Absolutely excellent. — 2 months ago

Amavi Cellars

Walla Walla Valley Syrah 2021

Deep, deep purple in color, almost black; blackberries, black plums, and graphite on the nose; high acidity; high tannins; tastes like camphor, black pepper, black currant, and blueberries with a long finish. I love it. What an interesting wine. — a month ago

Walla Walla Valley Merlot 2022

Recent addition to the cellar. Solid wine after gassing it with winepro2 oxygen. Good blue ripe fruit. Some vanilla but not too much. Pie like but with enough savory and depth to balance it out. — a month ago
