Omg what a Syrah - this was stretching and bending and totally change every time I sipped - the smell was a delightful funk - I thought it was fantastic- @David L you are a master of knowledge and a gentleman of the highest order of fun regarding life and wine- Bravo sir and thank you

Star of the lineup was the in the rocks Syrah. Cool climate and a dead ringer Clape Cornas. This wine was hauntingly good. It helped that Mike Reynvaan served it to me 😄

Battle of the Walla Walla Valley Syrahs: 2011 No Girls and 2013 Reynvaan “The Contender.” The Reynvaan is a bit lighter both in color and body with a nose of mocha espresso. The No Girls has that olive tapenade thing going which never fails to please. Both great expressions of the Valley.

Loads of bacon fat and blackberry. Black tea and wet earth with a tinge of chocolate and raspberry syrup. The finish is long with supple tannins and notes of graphite and smoke. Still young. This is a 10-15 year wine.
