It’s 1/2 bottle n/v Billecart evening.
This is a more appropriate color of rose for the Rosé color of this champagne.
My go to n/v Rosé Champange for a number of reasons…quality & 1/2 bottle availability are right up there.
Blood orange, black cherries, Rainer cherries, lean strawberries, pomegranate juice, hints of raw rhubarb, grainy, grippy, sharp chalkiness, crunchy volcanics, limestone, sea fossils, baguette crust, deep white spice, orange lilies, peach roses, excellent, lively acidity with a rich, well balanced smart finish that starts clean, ripe fruits falling onto perfect minerality. — 3 years ago
Tasted this directly after the Bergstrom I rated and omigosh how I loved it both for similarities to Bergstrom (ripe) and differences (so much baking spice and Vanilla Coke). I dunno. But both this and the Bergstrom are that person you meet who has their shit together and friggin’ look good doing it but, like, that’s not just their Instagram persona, they actually are. When they give you their number and actually text you you’re honored.
I would like these wines’ numbers. Promise not to overtext (maybe but words are my thing) — 5 years ago
First bottle since series 64. Still reasonable — 6 months ago
Tasted blind, 3 very different wines but all 3 were excellent and showed their character well.
A nice Bordeaux nose, typical left bank, black currant, graphite, pencil shavings, cedar, and some caramel. Very rich and large palate, good power, tannins are enveloping and have barely started to show more suppleness, good length too. Delicious and number 2 or 3 depending on the taster. 92-93

I know these are built to age but after a number of nights of drinking wonderful older wines we wanted something a bit…fresher tonight. With a 3+ hour decant this definitely fit the bill. Very deep in the glass - almost purple. Quite burgundian but the crunchiness keeps this in Beaujolais. Excellent red fruit. Tannins are quite tight and teeth staining but the finish is lovely with great refreshing acid. Nice pairing with simple roast chicken thighs, and an excellent value <$30. Going to send some to storage. — 3 years ago
This wine is exactly like when I spend a night in county. My cell mate at the time was a substantially large black man with the nick name JUICE. He was a great cuddler and wanted to be the small spoon cause he felt safe. He smelled of plum, dark cherry and chocolate..and as the wine a few week later I had a burning sensation and it was not pepper like the wine..I’m glad Brandon left his phone number on the bottle, I forwarded that to juice since we still stay in contact. Good luck with the cuddles Brandon — 4 years ago

Never disappoints. Beautiful melange of red fruit, earth, spice and acidity. Full of power but not heavy. As good as some Grand cru’s . Coteaux Champenois is never inexpensive but this has become very pricey . Granted I have not had a large number of still champagne but I have enjoyed the journey. This one is widely considered the king of the hill. — 19 days ago
