Pretty dry not bad for a cheaper wine — 25 days ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Consistent throughout. The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva pours a deep garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with lovely notes of tart and ripe red and black fruit: Morello cherry, blackberry, black tea, dried green herbs, dry gravelly earth, and theres a little bit of VA too. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and zippy with a very elegant texture. A lovely example of the 2020 vintage. Drink now through 2035. — 2 months ago

The gaminess & ferality have calmed down, & now a big, almost Golden Retriever of a wine (tasted blind one friend thought Cabernet Sauvignon). Still, for me these deliver absurd quality on the dollar. Black fruits, chalky, deep cassis & black earth accents on the long finish. Certainly gaining more polish with age as tannins better integrated. — 13 days ago
