Elegant with tannic austerity and complex aromas. Delicious to sip — 15 days ago
Year in, year out, this is my fav Chianti Classico. To me it captures all what I look for in a good every day Sangiovese - freshness, a bit of tannic edge, juicy flow, a savory sweetness to the fruit. And food friendliness!
Enticing nose with red cherries, a bit of wet undergrowth & turned earth, a bit of tomato leaf, a flowery whiff. Joyful!
Medium bodied on the palate with great energy & flow. The tannins present, a touch rustic, but in a nice way, the acidity juicy & vibrant. Nice depth and long finish.
So drinkable but also has some seriousness to it.

Chianti Classico Tasting @ Ai Fiori 4/27/26 — 2 months ago
Tasting great after 75 mins of aeration. Model Sangiovese flavors. Served with antipasti: pesto shrimp, grape leaves, hummus, aged 12-month manchego, and burrata. — 3 months ago
Good Chianti. Blackberry and fruit notes with some acidity. Finished nicely. — 15 days ago
Clear, medium ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of raspberries, balsamic, and wood smoke; on the palate, it's dry, with high acidity, high tannins, medium body, high alcohol, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of red currant, cherries, and clay pots with a long finish. This wine is balanced and complex. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. Nellie likes it too. — a month ago
Medium ruby , with a medium wide garnet rim . Cut herbs and some spice on the nose , sage , thyme , porcini and cedar . There is some spiced cherry fruit and rose underneath , this shows some development . On the palate there are spiced red cherries , dried herbs, gaining complexity with time in the glass. Fresh acidity and grippy tannin . Good menthol tinged finish . This is well balanced , though there is still good density the alcohol is balanced. It is showing a bit of development, the aromatics are really inviting and there is good complexity on the palate too. The last glass was the best , showing ample structure and a darker fruit character so I think this will age a bit further the tannins are still a bit noticeable, so from now (with time in the glass or decanter ) and over the next 8-12 years. Raspberry jam on the nose. Cherry and plum with nice acidity to start on the tongue blending out to cherry, raspberry, leather and oak then finishing in cocoa and a hint of oak. Medium tannins. Went well with my stuffed banana peppers. — 2 months ago
Tom Casagrande
Popped and poured, zero sediment. Color shows a little amber at the rim. Nose smells a bit tertiary for a wine only 6 years old. Scents of rioe, macerated cherry competing with old leather and some mahogany furniture scent. Lots of dessicated gravel too. In the mouth it’s a bit lean, with puckery tannins and a shortish finish. Flavors on entry are on the savory side. Lacks fruit somewhat on the palate. Just OK, which is disappointing for this wine.
UPDATE: On night 2, after being under a vacuum closure, it’s showing more depth, liveliness, and fruit. Upping the score from 8.7 on night one to 8.9 on night 2. — 9 days ago
