Terra Alta Garnatxa Negra 2017

Noted of pepper, meat, stone, raspberry, and garrigue on the nose. A little dry with red fruit flavors and mint, smooth, and lingering finish. — 18 days ago

Antica Terra

Antikythera Pinot Noir

Had this bottle at the Bird Cafe in Pt Arena. They have very reasonable corkage fees. This is a very velvety dense Pinot. Loved it, so glad I started buying from winery in early 2000, think this 2014 could go another 15-20 years.
Slow to open, but lasting through the 3 hour dinner, wish bottle was bigger

Terra Petra Rapsani Xinomavro Blend 2016

a nice follow up to 2015. This wine is really complex with aromas of red fruits, violet and herbs. While drinking the wine I had the feeling that I knew this signature in another wine drunk before but I was not able to get my hands on it. While reading CT someone mentioned Musar and yes.....bullseye... musar it is !!!
Really a good wine. Good amount of tannins yet very drinkable ... a very good QPR

Served blind to a few of us by @Weston Eidson . My initial, and final call, of this was ‘14-‘15 Napa Cab. Honestly, hard to put it anywhere else. A more ripe and rich version with an overwhelming amount of baking spices, bruised dark fruits and fig on the nose. Low acidity and an overall “soft” profile...tannic, but not overly so. Nutmeg, cocoa shavings, baked mixed berry pie and just a hint of dust/chalkiness to it. Super approachable now. Julien Fayard makes wonderful wines and I think this, along with his Matthew Wallace wines, are the most enjoyable young. — a month ago

Served blind as well, this one was in the Napa cab wheelhouse from start to finish. My guess was around 2012-13 St Helena Cab, as it already seems to be gaining quite a bit of complexity. Nose of sweet blackberry and spice. Entry is full-bodied blackberry, graphite, middle starting to gain some pepper. Still fairly tannic finish but softer than I imagined. Nice wine @Weston Eidson

Vernatxa Instint Primari Garnatxa Blanca

“Francesc and Joan started making wine from their family’s organically farmed vines in the austere Terra Alta region of Catalonia in 2009, drawing on a 200+ year agricultural heritage to make distinctive natural wines that were an immediate hit in Europe. Vernatxa is their name for Garnacha Blanca. The vines are more than 80 years old, deeply rooted in sandy soils. For this bottling, the grapes are fermented on their skins for 7 days, and aged in 500-liter neutral oak barrels. The result is a complex and robust wine, perfect for a meal, with a golden hue and notes of white peach, fennel and quince. It’s fresh yet serious and structured, with a long mineral finish.” — a month ago

Terra Gratia

St. Helena Red Blend 2014

Clear deep ruby color.
Clean nose, pronounced intensity. On the nose, primary aromas of black cherry, with secondary aromas of coffee.
Dry, medium(+) acidity, medium(+) tannin, high alcohol, full bodied, pronounced flavor intensity. On the palate, primary aromas of blueberry, with tertiary aromas of tobacco. Long finish.

Terra d'Uva Greco di Tufo 1861

This is my type of wine. No bite in any way. Buttery as hell. “Crushable” as my somm says. Absolutely wonderful — 11 days ago
