Always the most elegant and perfumed and even Burgundian of the La La’s, 06 is gorgeous tonight, open and giving with the oak seamlessly absorbed, wafting layers of cassis, bacon fat, camphor and exotic spices with silky palate and tremendous length. Still young but quite accessible now! — 9 months ago
A new tasting experience on several levels. Had never heard of or tasted this grape varietal, Schioppettino. I was looking for a lighter red off the menu at Settimo, Guy Grossi’s new Brisbane venture. Chosen purely because of its location in Friuli ie. cooler climate. The Somm was in the dark but the wine ended up being a revelation. Red cherry and cranberry - intense white pepper on nose and palate. Dried red florals. Love this style. Will be on the lookout for this Cuvée in the future. — 3 years ago

Lighter bodied with lots of raspberry and cherry fruit. — 6 years ago
1971. Nose of nicely aged Nebbiolo fruit, tea leaves, cherry, herbs, hint of bacon fat. Sweet fruit wrapped in pretty tannins that remain. Decent finish, showed very well. #produttoridelbarbaresco — 7 years ago

Grape juice. In a good way. — 6 months ago
Great vintage for the La La’s. But it’s not ready. The nose is stunning, captivatingly aromatic after a few hours in the decanter, layered with Northern Rhône classicism of blackberry, camphor and bacon fat. The palate is massively concentrated but oaky and stiff. Needs more time to integrate but all the pieces are there! — 2 years ago

1990 E. Guigal Cote Rotie La Landonne. Decanted just before serving. Great acid and some some fruit with fat on the finish. Spice and pepper have died out. Luscious dark fruit, great texture, still some veg to it. No huge fruit, smoke, or game notes. Delicious. Drank with beef koobideh. Perfect. — 6 years ago
Very smooth, easy to drink, fruity notes, delish! — 7 years ago

2002 vintage. Decanted and tasted 15 minutes and 1 hour after decanting. Slight amount of sediment. Cedar, cinnamon and traces of bacon fat in the nose along with a splash of VA. The VA blew off and wasn’t there after 1 hour but was hanging out at the onset. Medium heavy body with another 5-7 years likely dropping this to medium body. Smoked meats, bigg dark plum and roasted nuts still part and parcel during. No rush to crush. 10.28.25. — 9 months ago

M. Chiarlo’s Moscato d’Asti is also available in a 375ml which is a nice size to pop open after a nice meal. A slight effervescence wine with a light golden color. Aromas of sweet fresh stone fruits and citrus layered with a bit of floral spice. On the palate flavors of peaches and apricots with a grape-like character. Medium finish ending with citrus, sweet spice and honey notes. A favorite, great value! Grab a 750ml for a larger crowd! — 6 years ago
