A great example of Clerico's trademark combination of ripe dark fruit and spice and brown sugar, and with a touch of florality, it is drinking very well now. It won't be mistaken for a traditional Barolo, but it has plenty of its own charms to offer and deserves to be appreciated for what it is more than for what it isn't. — 8 years ago
Great examplar of the old school Barolo…decanted 90 mins….seriously pungent/truly gorgeous nose, more refined on the palate but lots of fruit, still a bit wooden/tannic - not offensively so but could probably mellow another 5 years. But very drinkable now, perfect with a heavy roast. Nose is so fragrant I could go around sniffing this all day — 6 months ago

Founded in 1979 by Giovanni Cantele and his two sons Augusto and Domenico. Ruby with big fruit aromas with sweet jammy notes. On the palate concentrated berry fruit flavors, a bit jammy and sweet, lively acidity, surprisingly great balance. Firm tannins yielding a medium finish ending with noticeable alcohol. Good value for a wine with a bit of complexity. — 6 years ago
Excellent #pinotgrigio #pinotgris I’m not a Pinot Grigio fan but this has texture and layers. #italywine — 7 years ago
Still super young, slowly opens up only after 48h!
Very fruit for a Sfursat, with ripe dark berries and blackberry jam, a touch of kirsch and some leather & spices in the background. On the palate more Sfursat like, the spices and richness comes out yet his one has a juicy acidity that is singing! Impeccably balanced, layered, complex yet elegant and with polished tannins. A beautiful wine - just don’t open it yet! — 8 years ago

First time trying Domenico Clerico. Definitely can see how this leans a bit to the more powerful side but can’t argue with the quality and depth. Lots of balsamic, tar, and flowers. Great acid and tannins are still present but in check. Long finish. Fun one to try. — 2 months ago
