Cornas Reynard (R) Syrah 2014

Love these wines. 2014 Reynard is showing beautifully after sufficient aeration, layered and complete, wafting cassis, campfire smoke, olive tapenade and violets. The palate is seamless, elegant and satiny with a liquid rock minerality, fine grained tannins and massive length. A killer Reynard that right now is even more showy than surrounding vintages. — 6 months ago

Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir 2019

Did not took any notes but frankly very light rubi color, elegant and truly well done. Buying more for sure. Very classical and with lots of potential. — 9 months ago

Meursault Chardonnay 2021

2021 vintage. Part of a portfolio tasting through 25 white/red Burgs. Some aggressive, frontal oak that mellows out a bit as it goes down. Medium/medium-heavy body. For village swill, this covers the bases quite nicely. 9.29.25 — 9 months ago

La Marginale Saumur-Champigny Cabernet Franc 2022

Really an excellent cab franc. Have had stuff from Thierry Germain before but not this bottling. Perfect with a variety of Syrian dishes at Damas in Montreal. Bright, restrained fruit, excellent acid. Nice finish. — a year ago

Clos de L'Échelier Dampierre Sur Loire Saumur Champigny Cabernet Franc

not the loudest nose, essence of strawberry and raspberry, but not sweet. mouthfeel is very light, one of the better cab francs i’ve ever had. — 5 months ago

Chaillot Cornas Syrah 2011

Gave this lots of air that showed an elegant, perfumed nose of dark cherry, berry with notes of cola, savory spices, licorice, floral, violets & tobacco leaf. — 6 months ago

Sans Soufre Cornas Syrah 2000

En magnum. WotN. Standing above giants. Nose of post-hike sweatshirt and posies flower garden. Unreal mid-palate, funneled finish. 25 years, no sulfur. — 9 months ago

Selection Vieilles Vignes Supérieur Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

I don’t drink much Bordeaux, not sure why. Maybe the choices are a bit overwhelming for me 🤷‍♀️ this one is medium bodied, has smooth tannins, not much fruit. — 5 years ago

@Sharon B same..my first Bordeaux ( many years ago) tasted like Band-Aids gone really bad. I do have a Lynch Bages 2016 in waiting. BUT most people do not touch this wine for 20 yrs +. Not sure how well I will enjoy that at age 75!! As I contemplate my wine purchases over time...!

Over the hill. Not undrinkable, but not as intended. Tough to describe and better with food.

Revising up it’s getting better or I’m assimilating to it. Might need like a 3hr decant :)
