2020 vintage. Premier cru and Monopole vineyard. Medium-heavy body. Some aged/golden flavors already present. Not the cheapest Beaune but this is banging and matches plenty of Meursault, Chassagne or Puligny in strict terms of dollars for the delivery. Can’t say I’m the biggest fan of large Burg houses but they occasionally surprise you. This is one of those said occasions. Delectable doesn’t recognize the label correctly. This is the 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis 1st Cru Les Chaffots.

Just had to have this tonight as I couldn’t let Peter drink his premier cru by himself. Not sure if he was picky or had the wrong year, but this one was incredible. And hate to say it because I don’t like paying so much money for it. But ahhh it was awesome. You know it when you fight your wife for the last sip! Strong earthy undernotes but so vibrant, such bright layers of red fruit. Yum! 😋 — 6 months ago
