With Ben, Meghan and Giuseppe on a cool summer night in which I broke my own wine glass AND Ben's by a nice fire on the patio.
"I really like this!" -Me
"Nutty overtones with deep plum flavor. Oh that's pretty good! That's yummy." - Giuseppe
"Kind of astringent. I also get nutty. (G interjects he was joking about that and doesn't get nutty at all. He gets almost honey and thinks it would make a great sangria) Honeyed on the front, astringent on the end." -Meghan
"Very tanniny and dry." - Ben
"My take is that Meghan and Ben are wrong and I agree, it does taste good." -Giuseppe
"Would buy again" - Meghan — 4 years ago

The 2017 Chablis La Foret 1er Cru is a super-expressive, weightless wine that captures the essence of what makes Chablis so special, and that is the ability to deliver incredible flavor intensity without excess weight. The 2017 needs a bit of time in bottle to come together, as the oak is not fully assimilated just yet. Even so, the 2017 is incredibly vivid and precise. What a wine!

Simply superb. Wet stones, sea shells, lemon, white fruit. The wine is fresh and refined, great tension with superb pure fruit and precise flavors and a long finish, so classy and elegant. We had 4 great 2014 whites in the last few days and this is the best one (2-Germain Poruzots, 3- Raveneau Foret, 4- Ramonet Vergers)
93-94 — 4 years ago
