Domaine Des Croix A Beaune

Bouchard Père et Fils

Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus Grèves Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2015

My last bottle of the 2015 Enfant Jesus. Showing better than our last tasting which was unimpressive to be honest. Still tasting somewhat new World in this warm 2015 vintage. A bracken like brambley note coming through together with violet/rose florals. Enjoyable but not worth the money. Cannot see this improving with further cellaring. — 4 months ago

Bottle seems too advanced. Color more like a 10 year old wine. Unmoved — 4 months ago

Volnay Santenots-du-Milieu 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2002

Gorgeous! These wines need age to soften and ‘02, one of my favorite Burgundy vintages is a beauty tonight, seamlessly evolved with a terrific combination of generous fruit expression, secondary earthy character and a velvety palate. Excellent. — 4 months ago

Domaine Leflaive

Les Pucelles Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2004

Medium lemon yellow , though within expectations for a 22 year old white Burgundy . Touches of smoky butter , lemon peel, red apple , ginger, chalky with wet stones and a touch of hazelnut . Complex , open and inviting on the nose , some development but still quite fresh and lively . On the palate this is intense with good grip , again showing the freshness from the nose , lemon peel , chalky , touch of white peach, sea breeze and lightly toasty finish . Long refreshing, mineral tinged finish . Perfect now , though benefits from air , becoming more mineral and focused with time and will continues to show well over the next 5 -8 years , maybe longer . — 4 months ago

One of the Domaine’s most signature bottlings. Very expressive and a particularly elegant rendition in 2022. Squab pairing. — 5 months ago

Meursault Chardonnay 2018

A touch of honey on the nose, some lime and pear . Fantastic acidity- bright and defined. With time in glass this gets more intense and Coche-y. Great balance. Delicious — 4 months ago

Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay 2004

Absolutely on fire with lemon zest and acidity, ripe fruit, a finish that echoes. Used to be the value grand cru white. This still has the Premier Cru strip label. — 5 months ago
