al forte Coste della sesia Rosso 2018

What a great example of the region the way the additions of Croatina and Vespolina complement the Nebbiolo all grown on the acidic volcanic soil of the region. Red berry flowers mint. Very alpine feel. Plus built to drink early. — 2 months ago

Orbello Coste della Sesia Nebbiolo Blend 2022

A love letter to what an every day drinking Alto Piemonte red can be — feather light, high toned, floral, spiced (star anise), earthy and fragrant. All the pomegranates. Finished the trip where we started. — 8 months ago

What do they blend with the Nebbiolo ?

@Joshua Fisher looked it up and actually much lower in Nebbiolo than I thought (only ~50%). The rest is a blend of barbera, Croatina, vespolina with a touch of cab!

Not sure if the identification is correct. Nice fresh cherries and berries, nice medium tannins. Delicious — a year ago

Tasty. Not quite as good as the Croa. A tad lighter and less complex. Vespolina grape. — a year ago

Vallelonga Coste della Sesia Nebbiolo 2019

Brightly acidic. Nice tannins. Delicate. Very nice complex Nebbiolo that doesn’t need 30 years in a cellar. — 3 months ago

Castello di Castellengo Coste della Sesia Nebbiolo 2016

Incredibly tannic upon open, but the nose showed there was depth and fruit. After about an hour, wine really opened. Sour cherry notes. Not sure nebbiolo, even 7 years old, is a good candidate for restaurant wine given the need for air. — 8 months ago
