From Chambers 2028 on 12/31/2020 with duck paella from Convivial and beet salad. Robust fragrance of strawberries, cherries, raspberries, alcohol— middle of the road good burgundy. Cloudy. Pine/cedar as it warms. — 5 years ago
Delightful! Started with a light fizz and settled down to a lovely cherry flavor. Round and gorgeous tannins. Rich and luscious. 2017 vintage. Drinking at convivial in DC with anna and kobi — 7 years ago
In a French restaurant Convivial tried this Bordeaux and I really liked it. Strongish but smooth finish. Good fruit. Dark color. Highlight but the meal was excellent. — 8 years ago

KEF by Karas White 2023, Armavir, Armenia 🇦🇲
Overview
A lively and approachable white blend from the Armavir region in Armenia’s Ararat Valley. Produced by the team behind Karas Wines, this wine blends 60% Kangun (an indigenous Armenian grape) with 40% Chenin Blanc, combining local heritage with international structure. The name “Kef” derives from the Armenian word for feast or celebration, reflecting the wine’s convivial and easy-drinking spirit.
Aromas & Flavors
Fresh grapefruit, white flowers, citrus peel, and subtle mineral notes. The Chenin Blanc adds brightness and lift while Kangun contributes texture and gentle orchard-fruit character.
Mouthfeel
Light to medium-bodied with crisp acidity and refreshing vibrancy. Smooth and clean on the palate with a lively, food-friendly finish.
Food Pairings
Mediterranean mezze, grilled vegetables, seafood, fresh salads, herb-driven dishes, or light poultry.
Verdict
A fun and compelling blend that highlights Armenia’s indigenous Kangun while remaining accessible through Chenin Blanc’s familiar structure. Underrated, refreshing, and very easy to enjoy.

🍷 Personal Pick
A vibrant and joyful wine that delivers authenticity and approachability at the same time. A great introduction to Armenian whites while still showcasing the personality of Kangun. — 4 months ago

Convivial. Effervescent nose massage. Racy like a stockcar when opened then trailing off to cruising speed. Not serious, yet an intriguing party guest. Gets deeper after an hour. All slate white grape style. For acid heads. — 6 years ago
Tablas Creek has long been one of my favorite Paso Robles producers. From the care they put into their vineyards—biodynamic farming, noisy sheep, a rambunctious trio of winery dogs, and a resident shepherd—the good folks at Tablas turn out elegant wines that are nuanced, superbly balanced and long aging. For the price, they're just that much more attractive. The 2016 Patelin de Tablas is fresh, light, convivial. Lemon curd and yellow apple lifted by a starburst of white mineral acid that courses through the center. — 9 years ago
This is an excellent wine! When Sting wrote his iconic "Message in a Bottle" he sang of the universal human need to connect. With aromas of cherries and wild blackberries (and you can taste it) the bottle says it goes most perfectly with friends, loved ones and convivial conversation so send an SOS to someone to come and share it with you! This is actually from Sting's Tuscan vineyard at Il Palagio. Highly recommended! 🍷👍😊 — 10 years ago
Grosse note ratio qualité-prix ! Bien équilibré, passe partout, belle robe, convivial. — 8 months ago
Medium lemon color, aromas of stone and citrus fruits with floral, honey and spicy notes. On the palate flavors of apple, peach and pear with citrus and floral wrapped in a nutty spice. Long finish, lively acidity, ending graceful with fruit, spice and savory citrus character. Great now! — a year ago
Magnificent crunchy Beaujolais, morello cherries, red fruits, light woody hint and pleasant freshness. The perfect convivial wine.
Magnifique Beaujolais croquant, griottes fruits rouges, légère pointe boisée et fraîcheur sympa. Le parfait vin convivial. — 5 years ago
Had for G's 30th birthday celebration (a few days early) with Convivial takeout. Needed a little time to breathe; peppery at first but got fruitier with time. Delicious. ~$40 at Dvines. — 6 years ago
So we drank this on a root day and it was really good but not outrageous especially for the price. Drinking at 10 years was also probably not the smartest decision 😬. But it was one of those rare convivial evenings where a dessert wine was the perfect finish! — 7 years ago
Tasted while visiting Devaux, in the Côte de Bar—the house itself, an historic building just off the bank of the river Seine. Thier non-vintage Cuvée Rosée is tutu pink, with a fine bead it offers a pretty sensor arc of rose petals, anise, red berries and pastille mints. Fresh and convivial on the palate, it's not a rosé Champagne of tremendous depth or power, what it communicates is poise and pleasure. Sample — 9 years ago
Looks like lemonade & goes down like lemonade. Complex lemonade, mind you. Convivial juice. Drink after midnight. — 11 years ago

Clear, pale ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced intensity primary aromas of raspberries, hibiscus, and dried herbs; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and pronounced intensity primary flavors of sour cherries, pomegranates, and strawberries with a long finish. This wine is balanced and intense. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. Nellie likes it, too. — a month ago
