Regional Collection Clare Valley Riesling 2002

See previous notes dating back to May 2018 and also August 2019. Consistent notes with noticeable Kerosene aromas. Also white flowers. On the palate a soapy texture with delicious flavours of green melon. Diminished acid notes largely resolved. A wonderful mature Clare Valley Riesling holding up and will go on for a few more years. — 11 days ago

The Armagh Clare Valley Shiraz 2002

After a 4 hour decant, this wine is cruisin’ straight into my heart.... Kirsch, blackberries, coffee, dark chocolate, bacon, smoke, and grilled meat. Beautiful spices like black pepper, anise, cumin and cloves.
Maybe just a pinch of alcoholic heat peaking through in the loooong finish...
In the early phase of its drinking window, just starting to show gorgeous savoury nuances, it has a bright and lengthy future ahead.
Oh man, do I love those classically built Australian Stars....
Monumental wine!

Hanlin Hill Clare Valley Riesling 2016

Great recommendation from the local wine shop!

Light gold color. Petrol and flowers on the nose. Crisp and bright, with excellent balance. Had before and after dinner, so is very multidimensional. Loved it!

Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2018

One of the few times I gave a wine time to open up and decanted it. Very smooth and even my husband enjoyed a few sips (not a wine drinker). I have a few bottles of 2019 and am wondering how they will compare — 7 days ago

The McRae Wood Shiraz 2016

We recently had a 40 wine blind tasting at the Downs Club to select a new Premium Member’s Claret. This wine was in my Top 5 but in the end did not get the nod. Dark rich colour with plenty of ripe fruit and toasty oak but still manages to have notes of black pepper in this full bodied red. I liked this from an exceptional vintage in South Australia. — a month ago
