Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2008 Grand Cru VV pours a straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing, almost youthful and initially, extremely bright and vibrant; like a laser beam of acid and marzipan. After a couple of hours of air, this really became exceptional with tropical fruit, lemon, curd, brioche, and an enormous amount of minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry and acid is high as one would expect. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. A serious wine that needs time and, probably one of those champagnes that could use a decant. Better after 2028 and through 2043. Disgorged 2023. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — a year ago

Round, almost creamy body followed by stone fruit and bright acidity. Great — 7 years ago

From 375mL. The “Rosé de Saignée” pours almost a fuchsia color with a transparent core and a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe strawberry, raspberry, red apple and chalky minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with low tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Round and rustic in style. Lovely. Drink now. Disgorged February of 2023 — 5 months ago
Had for our anniversary 2024. Fine lively bubbles. Bready and lightly acidic — 2 years ago

This bottle was off - Le Petit Clos is a fav of min. I’ve had 3 bottles previously of this vintage, all well integrated, smooth, leaving you wishing for more. A bit unbalanced, lacked floral notes and had a strong acidic finish. I’m going to just leave my other bottles for a couple of years before revisiting. — 4 years ago

Loved it! Will definitely buy again. — 6 years ago
My first champagne so take this with that in mind but has a yeasty barnyard nose with a great acidity and plenty of white fruits on the palette. — 6 years ago

Words almost fail here. Monumentally fine and utterly complete, combining substance with incredible elegance and purity. Everything is perfectly integrated. One of those Champagnes that simply feels inevitable from first sip to last. — 18 days ago
