Excellent — a month ago

La Fontenotte Saint-Aubin Chardonnay 2014

Welcome to Geology 101. This white burg has crushed rock up the wazoo. Also that lively, focused minerality that characterizes the 14s. Some nice fruit, but mostly this is a great rock show. (Grilled flounder in the background. Yum!!) — 7 days ago

— 24 days ago

Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Chardonnay 2010

Nose has struck match (or flint smashed with a hammer), ripe pineapple, honeycomb, sweet white flowers, tangerine pit, neutral oak and trailing note of alcohol. (13.0% ABV)

Palate has under-ripe peach, under-ripe yellow cherry, pineapple core, moist flint, wet oak, yellow apple, fresh lemon peel and a medium finish.

Very enjoyable bottle, and we're much looking forward to it's evolution this evening.

Les Pierres Saint Amour Gamay 2015

A very different Gamay than what Im used to... medium ruby color. Aromas of rose petals, pomegranate and clay. This Gamay has more Pinot flavors, with cherry and an earthy finish. A break from the “usual” Beaujolais. — 3 days ago

Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Dark ruby in color with a short purplish rim.

Strong nose of blueberries, blackberries, licorice, cedar, cloves, vanilla, spices, coffee, earth, eucalyptus, peppercorn and graphite.

Full-bodied, elegant and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black plums, black cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco, chocolates, light herbs and peppercorn.

Medium finish with fine tannins and spicy chili powder.

This is a very nice Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles. Very typical and consistent. Showing mild complexity with a nice mouthfeel.

Good by itself or with food. A nice sipping wine by the porch. The tangy ending makes it interesting.

Wine Enthusiast 87 points.

Good right out of the bottle and gets some more structure after an hour of airtime. Really enjoyable.

Aged for 18 months in oak barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

Château Meyney

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Nose has new leather, blackberry syrup, black cherry, chocolate, dried leaves and a touch of alcohol.

Palate has dried cherry, chalk, blackcurrant, dark chocolate and blackberry.

3 hours of decanting, more time is needed.

A very young wine, enjoyed from 375ml, in hopes that we'd see a little more advancement. A nice comparison to a 2009 version (750ml) we also enjoyed this evening. I'll take the nose of the '09 but the palate of the '15, tonight.

Nice producer and vintage but, early. Better things down the road for this bottling. 10 years minimum on good year Bordeaux. IMHO.

@David T Thanks, much agreed. We're quite familiar with this producers style, having enjoyed several '70's and '80's versions, know where this may go, but tough to enjoy tonight.
