Château Puy Mouton

Château Mouton Rothschild

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2024

94-96. Potente e bilanciato. — 10 days ago

Le Petit Mouton Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

This wine screams left bank Bordeaux. The final blend is 63% Cabernet Sauvignon; 22% Merlot; and 15% Cabernet Franc. Great depth of flavour particularly for a 2nd wine. The medium + palate shows an inner core of strength and opulence which exhibits the class of the producer and the excellence of the vintage. Tertiary aromas and flavours. See last Delectable note of 2020. Very integrated, balanced and polished. Prompts the old saying in a London Club, “Just damn good claret my man”. Excellent drinking now but still 5+ years left in it. — a month ago

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

Expensive but worth it. This Bordeaux is just right now. Paradigmatic Pauillac with deep brooding flavor and bitter finish. Tannins are perfectly smooth. Perfect with steak or on its own while listening to music while contemplating the meaning of life. All of the leather, earth, and tar one can expect from a fine Pauillac and under $100. — 24 days ago

Have poured this via Coravin at the resto last 2.5 years. I go 9.5 but tremendous concentration and QPR. Old-school BDX experience.

Château Mouton-Baronne-Philippe

Pauillac en hommage a Pauline Red Bordeaux Blend 1985

Popped and poured; enjoyed over a red sauce pasta night at home. High shoulder fill, but the cork completely disintegrated during removal. Juice is still drinking exceptionally well; shockingly fresh for being 40. Tons of black fruit and strong spices, with its age showing via expected tobacco and leather notes. Very structured via strong tannins and acidity; long and smooth / velvety finish...meaning this still has room to run. Cheers! — a month ago

Château Puy-Blanquet

St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Really great value St Emillion, opened up after about an hour and a half and drank super well. Balanced and rich while still acidic enough to keep it from being flabby. Real nice! — 3 months ago

Kept in 55 degrees 70 % humidity over the last 19 years. She’s as fresh as a daisy. 81% cab balanced with merlot. Still has all the sandalwood and casis at the forefront. Perfect wine to celebrate an amazing Christmas. Cheers y’all!! — 4 months ago
